i swear not a day goes by in my life that Rick Monday doesn't cross my mind at least once. i remember that day like it was yesterday. series tied 2-2, game 5, winner meets the NYY in the world series. rick monday hits a solo HR in the 9th to eliminate the expos. i left school early that day and got expelled for it. i sprinted home to see it and didnt even want to wait for the bus.

i swear when rick monday hit it, it was the ONLY time in my life i ever cried an actual tear watching sports. When Dawson looked up at the wall and i saw it go, it felt like i got punched in the face.. that was the year.. i knew we'd never get that chance to ever see my spos win or go to world series, and i was right, as right now, expos/nationals are the longest team in all of sports to NOT make it to the playoffs 29 yrs... i had a feeling that was my last chance and it was. it was a dream of mine to witness 1 WS before my eyes in mtl, but it never happened,just like i knew..i never got to see my expos win a w.s. or even see them in one..

i swear i still cry when i think of it, just like now as i have a tear in my eye as i type this post.
