Parligod's CRAZY Week 7 Picks Teasers & NO PLAYS
Okay dangerous week for me. I love sooo many games this week. And it's not just that I love the spreads; I LOVE the games. I don't think the lines can be placed high enough with some of these games. I'm expecting big blowouts this week for at least 3 of the lopsided games. Anyway, lets see how things go with ELEVEN picks this week...
    Single Bets:
    1. Cards/Giants OVER 46 (at -110) $225: (NYG alone averages close to 30PPG and looking for blood after last week's loss. Cards also have a high-powered Offense and one of the worst passing Ds. This pick should cover easily.
    2. Eagles (-7 at -115) vs. Redskins $400: I look for a bounceback by the Eagles, especially vs. an EXTREMELY weak team here. Redskins have countless issues this season from their management to coaching to QB issues etc. This is a homefield edge for the skins but Eagles should cover. HOWEVER, the Eagles MUST stop being so predictable and include more of the running game, as well as protect better against the blitz.
    3. Cards ML (+260) vs. NYG UNDERDOG PICK $400: My underdog Pick! Hey lets be honest the Giants are the favorite here. But I like the odds given. Can the Cards win 1 in every 2.6 times? Yeah I think so, I like the way they've been improving over the past 2 weeks, and this is still the team that somehow managed to go to the Super Bowl last year.
    4. Dallas (-4 at -115) vs. Atl $400: I think both teams are capable here, although Dallas has struggled this year. I will say that some of their opponents they've faced sofar have been capable teams (Denver and Giants in particular). Here, I see them pulling a win at home. The field edge is huge for Dallas, as "Jerry's world" stadium adds a home advantage possibly more than any other NFL team to date. Dallas also has some injured players popping back this week - I see a strong and high scoring game from them.
    5. Saints (-7 at EVEN) vs. Dolphins $500: I really don't think there's enough respect for what the Saints are doing this year. I'd compare them to the '07 Patriots, with a sick high-powered offense. Miami is a solid team, and might try to control the clock as much as they can to keep the Saint's Offense off the field, but I NO is a well-rounded team on D as well. I see them covering with a 34-14 Final score, even as an away game.
    6. Steelers (-5 1/2 at -110) vs. Vikings $375: Vikings are a 6-0 solid team. I think their 1st loss comes when they play in Pitt. The bigger question is whether Pitt will cover. I give a nice edge to the Steelers playing at home, I love the way Big Ben has been playing, and I don't even like the Steelers. Troy P is also coming back to play, while Winfield is doubtful for Sunday. Even without these factors I think I'd take the Steelers over the Vikings. Minn. is lucky to be 6-0, after Baltimore's kicker choked last week for the win, and the 49ers game was something close to a miracle play at the end of the game. No doubt Minn. is a solid team, but they're not as good as their record.
    7. Colts (-14 at -115) vs. Rams - LOCK of the WEEK $575: Hmmm don't do what I did. I missed some better odds here. In the very least I could've picked this up at -105 but I screwed around to think about it more. Have a litle faith in your picks and just go for it. Here, P. Manning is looking to continue his 300+ passing yard streak, and of all teams I think the Rams are one he can continue this. With the Colts 5-0 and coming off a Bye week they're ready to roll. The Rams, meanwhile, may very well be the worst team in the NFL right now, and just traded a starter on the O-line to Philly for a new receiver, who is unlikely to have much impact this week. The lines can't be placed high enough here. Final Score 37-10 take this pick and RUN.
    8. Chargers (-5 at -110) vs. Chiefs $350: Okay so here we have a 2-3 team (SD) playing a 1-5 team (Chiefs). The Chiefs finally got the monkey off their back with a win vs. the redskins. The Chargers face an uphill battle this year, but they have played some solid teams (Denver, Baltimore, Miami, Pitt) in their defense. They also have a high-powered offense, and I see Rivers making a lot of things happen this week. The Chiefs have mostly had low-scoring games on both sides, so I see the Final Score around 28-13.
    9. Jets (-7 at +110) vs. Raiders $125: Nice bounceback spot here. The Raiders win over Philly last week wasn't so much amazing plays by Oakland as it was dumb predictability of the Eagles, who abandoned the run almost completely. At +110 I like this pick a lot.
    10. 6 Team Teaser (+600) Teased 6 Points $500:
    Chargers +1
    Colts -8 1/2
    Packers -3
    Vikings/Steelers OVER 40
    Saints -1
    Eagles -1

    11. 5 Team Teaser (+550) teased 6 points $250:
Colts -8 1/2 (bad line as it shifted but Colts will cover EASILY)
    Packers -3

    Vikings/Steelers OVER 40
    Steelers + 1/2
    Saints/Dolphins OVER 41 1/2
NO PLAY (3 Games): (1) 49ers/Texans; (2) Patriots/Bucs; (3) Bears/Bengals. Houston has been playing solid but I don't know how the 49ers will come out after a bye week. I like their coaching lately, and they also have Crabtree coming in for the 1st time, who may or may not be a factor, but should be at least considered. I expect him to have limited involvement. The Pats would have to cover at -15 which is sick, even for them, plus the game's going to be in London, where I always worry about bad weather. Last on the Bears/Bengals - some people have a good feel for this game, but I'm really uncertain. I could see either team winning, a fairly high scoring game, a low scoring game, or even a blowout. Lots of uncertainty on this one for me, so I'm staying away. If I had to guess I'd say Bears to upset 24-23.

    Good luck tomorrow sirs!

    Parligod,

Good luck with your plays but you can be certain the vast majority of these have -EV (more importantly -EG). Sports betting is a completely different animal than poker and you're trying to beat the most efficient market in North American sports. I would highly recommend reading as much of Ganchrow's stuff as possible.

Thanks Don I appreciate the info. I'm sure my edge is slightly Neg right now and I'm still learning the process. Hopefully over the season I'll learn some good/bad plays and begin following more a pattern of self-implemented rules to keep a level of consistency. Til then I'll try/hope for the best with what I've learned so far.
