    Question
What does home field advantage mean in the NFL?

Does it mean it gives a team a 10% edge or more or less. Please someone help me as I am wondering about this. No matter the record homefield means something so what would you say it is?

For example the Colts are 13.5 point favorites on the road but at home would it be 15 or more.

    Thanks

Home field advantage occurs only in soccer. There is no home field advantage in US played sports with a small exception of some dome stadiums like the Vikings, Saints or Colts where they manipulate the noise volume for team's advantage. The Giants have also a small home advantage because of the wind which is always prevalent at Meadowlands and screws up the visiting teams passing game.

generally 2-3 points, I remember just hearing from chuck esposito on espnradio a few weeks back, that Seattle gets 4 points at home

generally in the Nfl the home team wins 57% of all games played in a year and the road team wins 43% of the time, so its a big differential

so far example on a neutral field i have this projection

            New Orleans 30.9
            Miami 23.4

but at home I have this scoreline

            New Orleans 22
            Maimi 25

            Which one should I use?

I would think if you get NO 30.9 and miami 23.4 on a neutral field in Miami would make it somthing more like

              No 29.4
              Miami 24.9

just based on adding and subtracting 1.5 points
