I'd hate to be in the same room with John Lackey right now, guy must be breathing fire.

Because he had 104 pitches and the pitchers are pussies nowadays

Because when your season is on the line you obviously want to rely on the bullpen over your ace, duh.

I think it had to do with Lackey being pissed about the strike that was called a ball

and why did Burnett stay in so long?

he should have been gone once they took the lead

                Yeah.

Had that blind ump not missed another call, Lackey would've got out of it with no damage.

Amazing how many times this happens. Pitcher is behind in the game and putting up zeros. As soon as his team gets him back in the game, they fukk it up.

I thought it was way too early. I think the Yankees kept theirs in too long also. That means an over is in store.

If this was Lackey's last game in Anaheim, he went out with a roar (directed at Scoiscia).

Lackey needs to learn that Scioscia is his boss and bosses always make the right decisions.

I still rate Sciosca as a good manager, just a bad mistake yesterday. Fuentes is the problem.

Agreed. Scioscia may have thought he was focusing too much on that one call and didn't want to leave him in. If he had left Lackey in and Lackey gives up the hit, this thread would've been titled "Why didn't Scioscia pull Lackey earlier."

Here's another thought, though I seriously doubt it was running through Scioscia's mind, at least wasn't a driving force. With the weather forecast out there for Game 6, there is a decent chance that Game 6 is not played until Sunday with Game 7 on Monday. At the 100-pitch mark like Lackey was last night when he came out, it's entirely possible now for Scioscia to bring Lackey back on short rest Monday if that scenario unfolds.

Sometimes that catcher has his way of telling the manager with out anyone else knowing he thinks the pitcher is tiring. You have to listen to that.
