Need Help with Vegas!! Pts Awarded for Whatever I decide
ok guys i am going to vegas for Halloween.. I am no newbie to vegas.. in fact i know the city pretty darn well..

This trip however I am making it a point to spend some time in some casinos and hotels i don't frequent very much.... Right now in my price range i am considering the following options

    1. Palazzio - I have never stayed her.. but have stayed at the venetian several times.. good part of town to be in.

    2. TI- never even stepped foot in this place.. have no idea.. all i know is that its next to the mirage and across the street from Palazzio.. seen it many times... watched the pirates from my room at Venetian.

    3. THE at Mandalay Bay- Never been.. no idea

    4. Mandalay Bay- There is a difference from the Hotel and THE

    5. MGM- Have walked through the casino.. was very wasted amongst other things.. so i really don't have much of an opinion of this place.

    6. Paris Paris... Was also very wasted when i came here.. i remember playing craps and the casino was nice..

    7. Wynn- Just got added to the list last min.. i know the location.. and have picked someone up there once.. but never really spent a lot of time inside...

Ok guys 10 pts to whoever can convince me to stay at one of these spots.. I want best overall experience, sports book, location, room etc...

Everyone state your case.. winner gets 10 pts when i book that room...

Good Luck Everyone.. i think this will be fun

whats so great about their comps homie? most hotels give u like 50% of food and free rolls and shit like that.. why does wynn stand above the rest? I am not huge on table games.. and when i do play its for low limits.. i like playing 3 card poker.. and some craps... but i can always go to a few places around the wynn for that...

You say the sportsbook is on par? From what i have seen most of the strip books are kinda shitty.. some just really square.. no pt buying or teasers..some don't allow phones in the book..

My favorite two books so far have been Lucky's and Hilton Superbook.. I HATE HATE HATE the book in the Venetian.. but killed them last time i was out on a weak ass PK line they put out on LA GALAXY when every other book had them -.5

i think the best sportsbook is at planet hollywood. that place is real cool. however i stayed at the flamingo and that place was real cool. love the casino area, it is very centrally located, plus they have like 4 pools and one of them is topless.

Palazzo just opened a sportsbook with food by Emeril Lagasse.

The Palazzo tower is classic Italian luxury, refined for your modern tastes while offering classic luxury located on the Las Vegas Strip.

This makes it more of a one stop shop, IMHO. I still play table games at Wynn because the people are much friendlier that Venetian/Palazzo, but they'll get my sports/horses in the future.

im not talking free plays im talking everything else
i went there the first time on a promo for 3 free nights and 200 free dollars. Ate at all the finest restaurants there, saw the cirque du sollie show there, went to the night clubs., and charged everything to my room. when i left i talked to a casino host and only had to pay the tips i gave waitresses/host. have been back twice since and have another trip planned on 11/5. its hard for me to recommend any other place when i stay at this 5 star resort for free. whoops scratch the night club comp as they are not a part of the hotel it self but i did get line skip and cover comped.

I've only went to Vegas 1 time and stayed at Ny Ny. I was 21 and went with 2 friends and had a blast. I'm sure they have remodeld since. I enjoyed the clubs inside.

by your post, i would say you wont be happy staying at MGM, Paris, or Mandalay and especially at ti. the hotel at Mandalay is different, you get what you pay for, but the location is not great being at the extreme south end. If you can afford Wynn or palazzo go for it. virtually the same location, i think palazzo shares a book w/venetian and the wynn is a step up from them in the sports book offerings and atmosphere. wynn book has a better rep for higher limits and more selection, but its not like offshore, if you want more then the only place for that is the hilton. the hilton doesnt want teasers, as is the case in most of vegas, the best options are cal-neva and luckys for teasers and you wouldnt want to stay at any of those locations [strat]. the other option for you to consider would be bellagio which also sounds like your kind of place, free drinks in the sports book and plush seating but bad/limited lines.

I hate the book at the venetian.. I love the book at the Hilton..

I would recommend Palazzo for the following reasons:

-Good location, center strip. Walkable to Wynn, TI/Mirage, the mall caddy-corner, and Caesar's, Harrah's etc.

-tons of restaurants plus Venetian food court. Food can get expensive and you don't want to eat 5-star every meal. Other hotels you mention don't have cheap eats that you will want every now and then.

-Sportsbook: Emeril's sports lounge just opened in the old 40/40 space. Venetian book is nice as well and I assume they are tied in together.

-Rooms: all suites at Palazzo, hotel is big but not too big (a la MGM grand) and rooms are a step above TI, MGM, etc.

-class of people: Venetian has a nicer clientele than MGM, TI etc. Worst-case you have conventioneers.

-cheap eats/drinks: already mentioned the food court. The coffee shop and noddle bar in Venetian are quick and reasonable. While drinks are not cheap at Venetian/Palazzo, a quick trip next door to Casino Royale will get your alcohol fix on, not to mention cheap gambling.

                                Hope that helps.

I'd go with Palazzo or Wynn.

They're both in a good location (in fact, they're very close to one another), plenty of amenities and options.

Wynn has Tryst, a fine club.

Can't go wrong with either one.

MGM has the best sportsbook (for watching) by far. The Pallazzo's sportsbook is a joke. Last time I stayed there it took forever to find it and it was 20 19" screens with no seating. It was pretty sad. The Pallazzo's rooms are great but not really diffreent from the Venetian. THE Hotel is a modern style hotel - never stayed there- but did stay at Mandalay Bay and loved it. The only downside is that it is so far away from the rest of the strip. TI was nice but I remember the sportsbook being stuck in the back without much action. Never stayed at the Wynn. I'm sure they have nice rooms but I feel like I should put on a suit and tie when I go to play. Paris is your typical Harrahs property.

I would rank them like this:

                                          Best Sportsbook - MGM
Best Rooms - Venetian or Pallazzo
Best All-Around Experience - Mandalay Bay

Have you ever been to The Green Valley Ranch? It is my favorite. You would need to rent a car as it is off the strip but it is one of the nicest hotels in Vegas.

Palazzo, TheHotel or Wynn. These 3 are a big notch above the rest. Palazzo has the best sportsbook, TheHotel probably the coolest rooms and Wynn the most sophisticated clientele.

The Palazzo sportsbook has a very cool area to watch the games in. The sportsbook itself is very small with just a few counters(maybe that's what people are referring to when they say it sucks). The Palazzo is connected to the Venetian, so you can wager there too.

I like the South End of The strip - too much construction on the Middle/North of the strip right now with the City Center. NY/NY, MGM, and Manadalay all connected through the free monorail. I always stay at Mandalaly Bay. Best pool area, best restaraunts, best sportsbook.
