Tulsa -8.5 vs UTEP

Sup everyone. Hope to make this my first of many succesfull pick blogs. A little about me, Been picking NFL games since I was 13 playing football cards. Im not a big player my highest bet usually maxes out at around $50. I dont go looking for the sexy picks or the upset specials. Betting is about winning money and I look for the sure thing if there really is such a thing.


My Pick for tonight is Tulsa - 8.5. I do my betting on Bodog. I like tusla alot in this game, They played a tough in a loss against Boise State and I realize to many that might be a trap for tonights game. UTEP did score an upset victory just outscoring Houston currently ranked #17 in the country. The fact is that they have no defense to stop the Tulsa offense. Tulsas wins have come against teams without a .500 record and they have beaten them handily and UTEP falls into this category.


Furthermore UTEP lost to a Memphis giving them only their second win of the season and scoring only 20 points vs a defense whose allowing 29.3ppg.
Everything says to me that this game will be a blowout.
Final Score Prediction- 42-14 Tulsa

i think this is a bad play because a) youve couldve given only 7 a few days ago and b) utep is improving and has had 11 days to prepare since the memphis gm and they are better offensively than they showed in that road gm, dont forget the only team to beat houston this yr is utep, and they scored 58 on them, btw hous beat okie st @ oki st, tex tech, and miss st (a decent sec school this yr)

I see your points and currently the spread is at -9 meaning more people are going with Tulsa and I respect your point on them beating houston. But like i said they couldnt stop houston and houston couldnt stop them. Houston hasnt really stopped anybody this year. They are giving up 29ppg vs Tulsa 18ppg. I feel the better defense of Tulsa will contain the offense of UTEP. Based on pure stats the passing game strongly favors Tulsa with QB Kinne 1296yds 12/2 td/int raitio vs UTEP QB Vittatoe 1222 5/7 td/int ratio and I think the Tulsa D will have an easy time shutting him down forcing them to move the ball on the ground.

12:00 left in the game. Wasn't exactly the blowout I predicted and the game is far from over but the tulsa defense is finally playing as i figured they would and the Tulsa offense is moving at will. Very comfortable with my Tulsa -8.5 Hope all goes well as this game reaches its end.

spoke too soon about a 40yd run and utep is knocking on the door still 24-13 but any scoring will have utep covering the 8.5

After 4th down conversion UTEP scores a td on 2nd down on a draw play and then a successful 2pnt conversion makes the score 24-21. Hopefully Tulsa will drive down and score a touchdown since they can easily still lose this game with 6:25 remaining.

Well time for a reflection... Utep ran the ball at will vs the Tulsa Defense as well as throwing for 270yds. UTEP had alot of big plays throughout the game from the 80yd td pass in the first half to the big 40yd run late in the 4th quarter closing the gap. Tulsas offensive play calling when the game was 24-21 was extremely questionable.
A quick 3 and with the last play on 3rd and 2 be a draw from shotgun was just dumbfounding. Not a good way to start my first post of pics but im up 25 on the week from mondays play of Denver.
