    jjgold, who was your mentor?
Did you throw dice at the brick deli walls in the streets when you were younger? Is that how you were introduced to gambling?

Tell me how you came into gambling as well as who was your mentor. Thanks

This should be good. I first saw JJ posting on a horse forum. I think he was into horses in the 90's.

JJ is busy at the El Cortez in Vegas. His people will contact SBR soon with a response. Thank you in advance for your consideration.

Please allow me to answer this question. Although I haven't any direct knowledge, it is clear the man, the myth, the legend that is JJGold cannot be confined to one avocation. He is a renaissance man whose interests and passions are as diverse and labrynthine as the man is complicated. To suggest there was someone, anyone who could be in any way construed as a mentor only besmirches the legend in our midst. Gambling is but an amusing diversion for this, the world's most interesting man!

Well gambling wise it was my Father who actually is still in the game today but smaller and also my Dad's buddy that is still in the game. I introduced both of them to online gambling and go to track a lot with Dad's friend.

My mentor posting was Sick Gambler , when I saw this guy posting I was fascinated and just took it to a different level . I found forums by ads online ((RX) and thend found Majorwager and the great Sick Gambler. That is all she wrote.

Probably not the right thread but I hear talk about poster of the year and this and that...... but there are so many variables to consider in the voting. Picks, threads, posts, videos! The guy never takes a day off from placing bets! Like going every day to bet your daily number! IMO if you consider everything, if Mr. JJ Gold hasn't won it already, he would get my vote! We probably nit pick on some of the stupid threads he starts, but who else could stir the pot as much as him and have a higher % of good ones? IMO any outsider looking in for a few days would see him as the face of SBR! Phighting Phils JJ!

i can even tell you the exact post that did it.. you once told me the post that did it and from there on..

correct me if i am wrong. and i am pretty sure i am right.

it was the post of sick gambler hanging out in malls all day killing time and hiding from family, and trying to avoid relatives because they'd always see him and ask him what he's doing in malls and he'd have to lie to them

btw jj, i'm honored that i was your posting mentor of the biggest forum icon of our generation..

i'm glad i trained you good.. i only wish i turned you into a surgeon instead of a big forum loser like me. i am very proud of you.. i remember it like it was yesterday.

when our parents ask us what we do in life and we say we post on forums, it's not that impressive. i'm sure they are ashamed..

Nicky that was the post, it fascinated me and the one where Sick Gambler lost over 100,000 trying to handicap baseball years ago.

Also he was relentless in forum fights like no other and would stay up all night until he won
