Stats have a place if you know how and when to use them,

Its a key to use in making your own line. But most importantly is the market number and how its shaped

stats mean shit.. that's why there's a spread there.. the stats are already applied into the line.. no matter what you info or stats you have, you still have a 50-50 chance at winning..

if stats say a great team is at home playing a shit team, then stats again mean shit cause ML will be -800.. so no advantage.

if stats say a team is a little better than another team, then ML will be -175.. so where is your adv of knowing stats is? you pay for what you get.. no matter how good or bad a team is..

now if you are getting an edge on every line, that now means something way way more than stats.

I think Nicky is right here.

It's all about beating the closing line. For the most part, the reason most of us lose over time is because we don't want to expand the energy or simply don't have the time to beat the closing lines. Most gamblers are proud, stubborn people who enjoy the thrill of winning a game they capped, rather then simply watching lines all day.

Some trends have value, again you need to know when and how to use them.

nothing to me. all stats and handicapping do is justify your "guess" and makes you feel comfortable with a pick.

2 smart cappers can look at the same numbers and spin them different ways to have different picks. I agree with Coach on this one

I am an "eye" test guy. Lets me watch the teams play. But I am a little over 50% handicapper just like the rest of us, so it really doesn't matter what you use. A rat chasing cheese to pick a game is probably just as good as stats.
