Is it possible to enter picks on BTP without logging in at SBR forum?

The reason I asked is because I see a poster on this week's winners that hasn't logged in for 3 weeks according to his points history. Can a mod comment on this please?

I am guessing yes it is possible. You have to log into the SBR Picks website to make picks. I don't think it registers you being on the forum though to get points. So a simple yes it is possible?

I also noticed that Ijustwant2bepaid, won some money this week, and he is banned from the Forum - Shouldn't he be banned from these contests as well?

He was also still picking in the 128 Tourney after he was banned. That is why I would guess you don't need to be logged in SBR to play in contests.

If this is the case then it is ridiculous. You get banned from posting at the forum for violating the terms of service but you can enter the contests through the back door and collect money?

it's a separate web site. You can log on there without being on the forum.

Some good questions. I think Bill is traveling today.

If a guy is banned he should not be eligible to play in any SBR contest. Period. It takes a lot of doings to get yourself banned at SBR. The contests are for those members in good standings.

Off topic, but I noticed that in the SBR daily best bet thread a banned poster giving away points a couple days ago, LOL. Maybe you cant post but can still log on?

ohn - - - When a poster is banned or temporarily suspended from the site, they still have the ability to to make their selections in contests they are already entered. However, they will not be able to enter new contests while banned/suspended. Don't think the software is set up yet to where it will communicate a banned from one site to the other. -SBR

I think the SBR policy dealing with banned players needs to be looked at again. SBR is being overly cautious. As I said before the contests should be exclusively for posters in good standing. If you run through the scenarios and a guy goes postal the day before he wins the BTP grand prize then yea, could be a problem. But then again anyone who is foolish enough to get banned doesnt really deserve a prize.
