Missing money from my NETeller debit card

My guess is they charge you a monthly maintenace fee or some kind of inactive fee ... Neteller is the home of the fees.

This is a perfect example of a company taking advantage of those that gamble ... They know that gamblers will pay a premium to conduct their gaming ...I would guess that Neteller does the great bulk of their business with gamblers ... If a bank charged you a maintenance fee on your debit or credit card, you'd tell them to shove it.

Sorry about that Dave. When I first opened an account with Neteller, they insisted that they were not a bank and that I shouldn't leave money in there but merely use them as an agent to transfer funds. So I've always tried to be exact in my currency exchange calculations in order to leave almost nothing in my account. And I've never been interested in their ATM card because of all the fees, including the monthly $2.95 to $5.00 dormant card charge.

When someone has a captive audience, they scew them royally ... The New England Patriots charge $40 so you can have the luxury of parking your car and their stadium isn't exactly in the middle of a city.

I think that 100% of Netellers business comes from Gamblers!

I have yet to find any non-gambling site that accepts Neteller for purchases.

Basically they can charge us what they like & get away with it

Good point LG ... You're probably right about the 100% ... I used Neteller after PayPal stopped conducting biz with gaming sites ... PayPal was excellent and no fees either way ... Neteller business must have skyrocketed after PayPal left the scene... Now there are quite a few players in that space ... Almost 100% of the credit card companies won't let you fund Neteller now ... When that happened I stopped using them ... I was rather stupid back then and accepted their fees ... I use some form of instacash or instacheck now and only those that have no fees ... Click2Pay is good.

Actually lot of people put up with situations like this. Those with poor credit actually have worse fees for secured or even just the use of some debit cards.

Also gift cards often have maitenance fees so if you don't use it for a couple years the amount on the card is eventually gone.

We are a captive audience for Neteller and are generally stuck with what they do, but they are not alone in fees like this.
