Should "syndicates" be banned from the poster of the year contest?

I thought I saw in one of the threads that the prize would not be points. Doesn't that make the syndicate pointless?

Yes but you've got to understand the (short) history of this contest. Read this post and you'll understand why I'm concerned about syndicates even without points:

there are 4 posters i know of that had 2 votes at noon yesterday, and by 7 pm, they had over 25 votes.. lol

I love it.. it's actually cute.. i can't believe posters would go through all that work to just have more votes. i know off hand 12 posters who i can put my whole mortgage, and life savings that have cheated.. i won't mention who, but we know, jj.. jj, my hand to god, i did NOT cheat at all. my votes were legitimate, not even 1 vote of mine was cheated.. and i'm sure so were yours..

i just want to say that of my 27 votes of you actual posters that voted for me,, i really wanna say thank you and i appreciate it, cause i swear to god, i did NOT create any fake accts..

is there a way willie bee can figure out how many new accts have been created at sbr in the last 36 hrs.. i will bet record #'s of sign ups..

this contest is good for the garbage.. it's not even real..

Banning the syndicate would be easy. If I see the same people all voting together in every poll, they can be banned from voting. It's no problem at all. Incidentally, you need at least 500 posts to vote in the poster of the year polls and you've only got 300.

500 is what we used last year. I'm checking to see how the worst poster voting goes. If 500 posts works for that then the number will probably be 500. Be careful, if I notice a syndicate voting the same way in every poll, it's going to trial by public opinion and I don't think you'll win.

banning the syndicate is just a move out of Fear, and it reveals fearless real colors. He belives in Dictatorship , and in Supreme Power
