Well, yes he is that good. He is arguably a top 5 pitcher in MLB, and even with his very rough start to the point where everyone was laughing at NYY for the signing he ended up with very good numbers, especially when you consider he pitches in by far the best division in baseball and pitches in one of the biggest hitters parks.

People discount how good LAA is though and Kazmir is a solid pitcher. This line should be LAA -115, but they are home dogs. LAA has value in the line, but CC is a tremendous pitcher, and if NYY wins the ws he will likely be the MVP or in the top 3 for it with A Rod and Jeter

There is going to be pressure on both starters to provide innings b/c both pens are wearing thin. With that said, Kazmir runs high pitch counts which always limit his innings. CC has not had the stress of a pennant race or the workload of years past. There should be zero excuse on his freshness. He should be able to pull the load for the Bombers.

I think this game is a toss up just like the Phillies game was last night.

I like the way you think Mikey Corbin. Great value on Angels. Take a shot on the over too. Short rest means long profit.

Big game pitcher? Really? He's done well this season and he was dominant in September for Milwaukee, but let's look at the facts:

In 2007, with the Indians, he went 19-7 with a 3.21 ERA and won the AL Cy Young. Riding high coming into the playoffs, he proceeded to get shellacked, allowing 12 runs in two starts. In 2008, Sabathia added another chapter to this trend. He was 11-2 with a 1.65 ERA for the Brewers after being traded midseason. He was so dominant down the stretch that he received serious consideration for the NL Cy Young, despite having only pitched 130.2 National League innings. The result? A 12.27 postseason ERA, as the Brewers lost to the eventual champion Philadelphia Phillies.

The last three reg. season starts CC made for the Brewers were on short rest. He pitched 21.2 innings and gave up two ER.

I think he was referring to the playoff start, also on short rest.

As for Kazmir, you never know, but he has a great track record against the Yankees and especially the guys in the lineup tonight.

people were all waiting for cc to fukk up. smart money was on the yanks tonite. like i said before yanks in 5. once they lost 1 game they were money. CC is proving his value but most hate yanks so they just cant accept it.

No way. I love Wainwright, he should win NL Cy Young hands down. No way is he a better pitcher than Sabathia though. CC pitches vs the AL East, that is the toughest job in baseball, especially in a hitters park. CC went to the NL last year and made a joke of it.

I would put Lester as the #2 pitcher in the playoffs over either STL pitcher, and then #3 would be Cliff lee or Wainwright, but cliff has shown he can do it in the AL also.
