    calvin ayres, please stfu already
all this has done is thumb his nose at the u.s. govt with his 60 mins interview and piss everyone off. he's ruining it for everyone who wants to have outs when gambling. maybe thats what he wants, for the other gambling books to get caught and for him to be the only one left. i for one wish he would just get caught by the u.s. govt so that maybe they would be more lax on everyone else.

I don't play at Bohog so this babbling idiot is making a very good diversion if you ask me.

I just assume the anal us gov focus all the resources on calvin and leave everyone else who is not flaunting alone.

What, Ayre has given another interview. Is there a pcychiatrist in the house? What does this guy suffer from? Super-narcissism, delusions of grandeur. Is the constant presense of Costa Rican whores a lame attempt to hide his latent homosexuality? Anyone who has not figured out that Ayre appearing on the cover of Forbes was the death-knell for the industry is,well...stupid. When is enough enough for Ayre. I am amazed he hasn't been forced to shut up. Maybe he works with the US Govt. Sorta like the "Drugs for guns" thing they had going with the Contras in Nicarauga. Yeah, that's it. Calvin is this generations Oliver North. Something has to explain why he's still on the loose. But seriously, he is a greedy, greedy man.

This egomaniac actually became offended when Forbes listed him at 500 million this year instead of being a billionnaire. He kept saying he was still a billionaire. I mean is that really necessary?

I don't know, I think Ayre's continued showing off would be a good thing for the industry, in the long run, ironically. The idea that he should shut up so that the US leaves the more polite lawbreakers alone is not good. A selectively enforced law is the most unhealthy situation possible. If Ayre's mouthing off forces the issue somehow, I think that's probably a good thing.

I agree he should be more low key, but so many people on message boards complain when a book/prosessor leaves the US market with "why don't they tell the US to F-off?"

Well, here's a guy that doing exactly that, and he still gets criticized.

                I like him.

More people need to be like him.

So long as he stays out of the US, USVI, and Dom Rep, there aint a damn thing the US can do about him.

Think its random he is now set up in Antigua?

He gets criticized because he does what is best for Bodog and his bank account. If I hear one more poster claim Ayre is a champion for the industry and will fight the good fight because he believes in the cause, I'll cry. Ayre is sweating big-time right now { Kaplan arrest} and will shit his pants when they get him. Not if, when! The man is a nerd posturing as a tough guy. He'll make any deal he can to shave a few years off his eventual sentence. And it will be a lengthy one. I'll say 17 years. Most people know of his dealings up in Canada, these will be a factor. He's gone soon, and so will the money be. Don't forget he basically copied Kaplan's model to a T.

Yeah - DOJ is just letting him go for now. They can arrest him where he is, but they just don't feel like it...

It is a fine line. His business is based in large part on brand and hype so his always trying to be in the media is understandable. At the same time, I wouldn't feel that safe keeping money with his book as I think DOJ is looking at him and his book hard. He is THE target now.
