My guess is you just have to wear black and white, but if it's at a 5 star hotel I'm assuming most guests will be dressed in formal wear.

Pico, I believe that as long as you wear those colors you will be within the dress code, even if it was a tank top and a short, but, if I were you, I'd rather use the shirt and the suit just in case.

This is what I was thinking. I would ask around and try to find out from others who got an invite if possible.
