Will this end up severly affecting the industry? Will all books be forced to get people in the US to buy money orders and send them out in place of checks? Will **/** still be as easily obtained or will books have too many requests to get them out in a timely fashion........... Will nothing happen effectively and everything remains the same? What is the feel in the industry and any rumors/speculations on this all?
What will the effect of the UIGEA be on 12/1/2009 implementation?

#2I doubt much will change and hopefully, by the middle of next year, Barney Frank's bill will pass to regulate.Comment -

#4Frank's bill excludes sports gambling, it only allows for poker really as horses from US sites are already legal......... If frank's bill passes US sites will spring up for poker/casino so there will still be a strict eye on foreign transactions maybe even more so than before as it will affect the governments cut of gambling revenueComment -

I'll see if I can track some info down, I posed the question due to a post in the industry section from a poster claiming to have received letters from his banks saying that any checks suspected will be investigated funds seized and bank accounts closeComment -

Thanks for the info. I'm a poker player first and foremost so our community in 2+2 and Pocketfives are excited about the possible return of Party Poker, Paradise Poker, etc etc. Obviously Sportsbetting still has a stigma about it over all the past scandals.Comment -

#15Sports betting does need a lobbying group. Horse bettors are exempt from UIGEA regulations because they had a voice in congress. Sports bettors need the same thing. Then maybe we could eventually over turn the Wire Act, or at least fully expand wagering online and in all the states that want to allow it. Deleware came extremely close but no one spoke up against the ridiculous appeal filed by the NFL, NBA, MLB, etc.Comment -
