Are iPhones OVER-RATED ?

Love it. Had it since day 1. Tried to switch to other phones, came back to the iphone a month later. Its like a mini computer, web browsing way better then any other phone.

It all depends on what your needs are. For mine....Blackberry is a lot better to be honest. There is no way I can type as much as I do using the keyboard on an iphone. The touch screen just isn't practical for business purposes and typing pages and pages of an email.

As far as posting goes....of course you can post from an blackberry so that argument doesn't work. The applications on an iphone are pretty cool but we all got along without them and and can continue to. The blackberry has a ton of applications now too and if you buy the memory card for the bberry for 20 bucks it has the same amount of memory as an iphone and can do most of the same things such as store music and such.....just sayin.

I know what it is and you can do the same with the Google phone if you want to switch ROMs. The difference is, developers are more inclined to put there programs out with the Google phone because it's easier and you have a better shot to make money. Anyone who develops a program for the G1 can put it in the market place right away and make a buck.

It's not that way with the Iphone. You have to either go through Apple and get it approved for the marketplace (and I believe Apple takes a cut.)or just cater to the smaller percentage of people who Jailbreak their phones.

There is no comparing the two. The iPhone's music capabilities are taken for granted, so everyone thinks if a phone can play music it's equivalent. That is ridiculous.

As for saying you can get along without applications because we didn't use them before... well, people got along without Internet on their phones, or music, or 90% of the other things on every phone. The idea isn't what you can live without, it's how much more effectively and efficiently you can use things with the iPhone.

The Blackberry is for old farts who don't listen to music. It's okay to be an old fart, but don't think your old fart ways are better because they aren't.

But that's a strange criticism. The fact that there are two avenues to sell your creation is bad? Plus, if you've been on Cydia or the Apple Store, you'll see there is no shortage of vendors, so I don't think anyone feels it is a detraction. I'd actually argue the opposite, that if you want to make money, not building something for the iPhone is a bad way to go about it, considering its increasing popularity.

Developers are going to focus on one thing first and worry about the other later. That's just the way it is. Adobe could care less about the Iphone right now. It's too much work dealing with Apple.

I agree the lack of Flash is ridiculous, but at the same time, complaining about that kind of thing before any phone has successfully implemented it is silly in its own right, no?

I simply do not see any phone coming out that will upset the iPhone. The functionality, community, and yes, even the culture will propel it for many years.

I don't hate the Iphone, but I do hate Apple. I think of Apple the same way I think of AOL 10-15 years ago. Everybody used them because of strong marketing so whatever they did you had to deal with. Then eventually people ventured out and saw there were better options and now they're fading away.

I was at a Yankee game and everyone w/ an Iphone (or att for that matter) couldn't get service while verizon was carrying calls just fine.

iphone is going to be unlocked next year .. mark my words guys. i know for a fact.. i live in san jose and know a lot of people at apple..

i have mine unlocked on tmobile for shits and giggles and it works great.. but yes At&T sucks and Apple knows it.. so it won't be an AT&T product alone anymore..

Boys when I am at any sporting even with large crowds I get ZERO service. Common with all iPhones, all other servies work just dandy. I don't get it and it's very frustrating.

I think it has to do a lot with this...

do you guys live in the country? i live in sacramento ca. Ive never once in the past 5 years ever had a call dropped. Then again theres alot of blue in the area i live in.

Yeah, when these guys had dropped calls it was b/c there was a high concentration of people using their phones. I had dropped calls on verizon at the Yankees parade i think it has to do w/ the capacity of the network in addition to the coverage area.

Nope greater metro Detroit. It was in Ann Arbor when it didnt work and also Joe Louis Arena in Detroit. Thing sucks in large groups.

I-Phone, Blackberry are superb overrated. People like to suffer take my country for example.

They have proven that most people prefer to buy telephone prepaid cards than: buying rice, chicken, meat. And after they buy their stupid celphone stuff, they have no moeny to eat, and they starve.

They will buy a i-phone, spend all their paychek on it. And then they do not pay their bills, do not have money for food.

So yes they are ****ing overrated
