PLAY THE UNDER- its 36 for a reason

I wanted to take the under but 36 is ridiculously low. Unless there's a hurricane coming in to south beach, I can't touch that line. This could easily go to OT and kill the under.

Look at it this way. The Jets went into New Orleans and the total score was 34 points. That was against a good offense and in a dome.

I don't really understand why so many people seem to be relating this game to the Colts/Titans game, and taking that into consideration in laying their bets... Do they really believe that there's any correlation between Indiana winning and the Jets winning tonight because the lines are similar?

I think this game boils down to:

On the ground: Jets < Dolphins
In the air: Jets > Dolphins

-> If Sanchez can keep the ball moving in the air, the Jets can win. On the other hand, Henne will go with what works and you can expect the Dolphins to challenge the Jets ground defence early and often. The game will go to whichever QB handles the MNF pressure better, and I feel like Sanchez will buckle first. However, because both teams feature such good defence, the strongest play of the day, IMO, is the Under 36.

Thank you, genius. I understand the math. There is no way Miami's offense puts up that many points against the Jets D. The Saints, one of the highest scoring offenses in the NFL, only managed 24, 14 of which came on defense.

Did any of those stats include the Fins having to deal with Braylon Edwards. That will help open up the running game. Rex Ryan will also have a game plan to stop Ronnie Brown and put pressure on Henne. I love that the jets got there loss out of the way last week.

I too am on the Jets. Watching the defense shutdown the Saints a week ago and everyone has to agree that the Fins arent close to the offensive output of the Saints. I just see the Jets D giving the Dolphins more than they can handle. Maybe wrong, but I am on the Jets. Best of Luck to everyone

I don't see it going over unless there are defensive scores. Sanchez will be eased into the passing game after last weeks performance. Jets will commit to the run, and that is all MIA has.

Overs are great until it's 6-0 with 5 minutes to go in the half. GL getting 31 points in the second half. I'm not bashing anyone's choices I'm just saying it's 36 for a reason and the only way I possibly see this game going over is if there are a couple of easy defensive touchdowns. Those turnovers go both ways though. If Miami/Jets spend 8 minutes driving down the field and turn it over once your over is F%$*D.

MIAMI is the 3rd worst ATS team at home since 2001 in the NFL. They only cover 39% of the time. Only the raiders and saints are worse and its not even close after that.

d score are without a doubt the most scary thing about the under with a number this low a few bad to's by either qb could screw da under that being said i would think both coaches will keep there qbs out of those situations im looking for a grind it out field position type game. really could see it going rither way im not usually a teaser guy but mia+8.5 and und 42 looks very solid 2 me. Cheers G's thanks for the welcome. Its just about time to hit the sack over here in the UK, so i've just laid my bets. Bare in mind that the Jets are 5-0 ATS on the road in Miami and also 9-1-1 ATS overall in recent times. BOL to everyone and goodnight.

I've watched both of these teams play this year, and I think there's a 75% chance that the Jets are winning. Why?

The Jets offense will score or go three and out every drive. Sanchez was rattled last week, but he still showed poise trying to lead the Jets back to a win. The Dolphins have a talented front line that can stop the run, but their secondary, although very athletic, is susceptable to play action and trickery; something that the Jets do a lot. Also, Shonne Greene will be playing this week. He showed very good burst last week until he tweaked/sprained his ankle. He should help progress the Jets' running game. The Jets are going to score at least 20 points on offense.

Miami has an excellent running game, but Rex Ryan has shown that he can scheme perfectly for the wildcat: ex) last year's Raven-Dolphin game. The Jets are going to let their big boys play containment and let their linebackers make plays. They will be able to commit an extra man up front because of Henne's inexperience. I still see the Dolphins rushing for a few big gains and a few scores. But I don't see it holding up. Against the Titans, the Jets were stopping the run very well until Kerry Kollins started making great throws into 1-on-1 coverage. The Jets adjusted, and although Chris Johnson picked up some good yardage, Collins made many mistakes and did not complete something like his last 15 passes. The Jets defense will adapt on the fly to whatever the Dolphins present. I just don't think the Dolphins are talented enough to keep the Jets off-balance on offense. The Saints were able to do this with 4-5 talented receivers, 3 talented running backs, and a smart mobile quarterback, and the Jets defense still held the Saints to 10 points.

Looks to me like a good ML bet on the Fish. Just seeing a 20-17 game with a few bounces going one team's way and think the Jets will struggle to pass the ball with Edwards being new to the system and ineffective all year for the Browns, as well as being down a WR in Stucki from the trade. Miami's D does enough to keep them around until the end and they squeeze out a late win riding Ronnie Brown all night.

Different type of game when these two teams meet? What does that mean? Jets are 10-1 ATS in all games in miami. Nothing unusual about that in my opinion.

I'm on the jets as well. If you go back to last year Rex Ryan's ravens were one of the best teams against the wildcat. Jets defense is up to par I see a jets 10-13 point victory. GL everyone
