First Holliday drops a routine flyball, costing his team the series.

Now Punto gets picked off 3B with 0 outs, most likely costing his team the series.

Why are athletes such idiots?

Holliday lost the ball in the lights...I'm not sure how that qualifies as "sooooooo stupid". I think you can certainly make the argument that Holliday was the best trade made this year. Also, the Cards could have still won the game if they had made a pitch.


And after watching the replay, I think, but I'm not 100% sure, the 3rd base coach was late giving Punto the stop sign. The play is behind him, Punto is dependent on the 3rd base coach to tell him what to do...Not saying Punto is blameless, but at least 50% of the blame should go to the 3rd base coach...

Thats excuse is BS about Holliday losing it in the lights. If it were true how did he end up exactly where the ball was hit and position his glove exactly where the ball was dropping?

He just made a poor decision trying to make a basket catch when he wouldve caught it had he kept his glove up.

Punto had no business straying that far from 3B. If the coach isnt giving u the go home sign u stay on the base not go half way home and stand there. But this isnt the first time Ive seen that idiot do something stupid so its in his genes I guess.
