I always wait until all teams have played a sufficient number of games to have data to work with.

However, I know that there are people who jump in from day 1 taking advantage of weaker lines. Has this approach really worked for you ?

I like to wait until December before betting NCAA basketball. Its probably the most unpredictable of the sports I play and I like the teams to have a few games under their belts before I put money on them.

Earlier games are stiffs matched up with the higher echelon teams, consequently large spreads ... Better games and betting when league play starts.

yea,the sagarin ratings dont include this years results until about 2 weeks worth of play are recorded, but if one needs action grabbing the points may be the way to go.will see if this holds up tonight with georgia southern +6.5,sagarin about the same, being played in the south, and san jose will have to play god awful to lose by 28.
