Or is it better clutch hitting?

I think this is an important question for baseball playoff capping. In the last two days we've seen three save opportunities and two of the three closers choked and their teams ended up losing.

Did you see Nathans numbers versus Texeria and A-Rod going into yesterday ?

6 for 10 and 6 for 12. When guys hit you that hard someone else should have closed.

Or just better hitting in general. Teams in the playoffs are almost all going to be better offensively than your average team.

6 for 10 and 6 for 12. When guys hit you that hard someone else should have closed.
C'mon man. Do you really think 10 and 12 AB sample sizes are relevant?

This is not the same as your regular argument about sample size.

These are the 2 highest paid hitters not only on the Yankees but in the league.

Matusi was batting over 500 against him too.

By the way they singled and homered so go figure.

Another save opportunity, another blown save, another loss for the team that put their closer in to save the game.

This is getting serious, that's 3 out of the last 4 save opportunities that have been blown leading to a loss!

If that was the answer we'd see better hitting overall throughout the playoffs, higher scoring games, etc. That's not what happens overall.

Manny Ramirez just needs a haircut and then he will go on fire at the plate. Stop trying to be pretty, Manny.
