I dont want my obituary to read he died right after winning the powerball lottery, he was on the way to get his 100 mil lumpsum payment and got run over by a train, wow he had a ton of money too bad about that train runnin him over he woulld've bought a mansion, ferrari, etc and been livin the sweet life but now he's deadComment -

#8penniless is better than die in debt.
if you max out all your credit cards, loan shark credits and go all in and have a fatal heart attack with last second choke job...that would be the SBR's way to die.Comment -

#13How come when your money runs out people turn to drugs and alcohol - think when your money runs out you could not afford drugs and alcohol and you turn to events to get you money. So maybe you can afford drugs and alcohol.Comment -

#16Who cares. People die.
At least he had a long life and enjoyed a lifestyle most of us only dream about as a wealthy QB.
If neonitwits gave even 1/10000th the damn they give about celebrities and sports figures, maybe 18, 19 & 20 year olds wouldnt be dying in the streets of Iraq right now.Comment -

#18Sharp post dagger but when you're spending over a trillion a year for a military that hasn't been needed in over 60 years you have to send em to fight pointless wars every once in awhile or the neocons might grow a brain and realize where the deficit really comes fromComment -

#19The "pennieless" thing caught my attention too... When you die what the hell does it matter if you are in debt, wealthy, or pennieless.... We are programmed to be judged on, what seems to be known as, life's score card (money)... This is actually pretty irritating and even worse when dead people are judged that way...

#23Originally posted by SportsgirlHey Shams. I don't think the "penniless" things was meant to put a premium on how much money he had at death, but more so to give the reader and idea of how he lived.Comment -

#24I knew him when he played for the Falcons. , he lived at the same golf course I grew up at. He had a taco restuarant in town with the Falcons punter Billy Lotheridge.(spelling ?)
He was a nice guy back then.
Being broke is not a great thing when you dieIt is not like you spend all your money right before you die. Usually means you are homeless and living poorly for years.

#30Alcohol and drug addiction is a disease not much understood by those who are not an addict nor, typically, those who are currently living the lifestyle.
