I've developed the ability to not sweat a loss if I think it was a good bet. But hasty ill-advised picks in free contest competitions really eat at me! I find myself "rooting home" contest/bracket picks, which I barely ever do with actual bets.

Do you root more for your bets or your picks in contests??

#2I always root for my bets than I do any contest. Then again I really don't play any contest at all.Comment

 Irrational, but true.

#4I don't care much about contest picks at all. They are often on a stale line that can no longer be bet at that price.Comment

#6Rooting for a contest pick in the name of fun during a game, sure. But the end result, in terms of win/loss, has zero significance to me. Not so for bets.Comment

#7I quit playing fantasy sports for a similar reason. If I had a QB or a SP on my fantasy team, it always persuaded my thinking. It's the homer syndrome.Comment

#10My contest picks are the same as my bets. I'll even root against both if it means a classic upset (like pulling for Corpus Christi and VCU this week).Comment
