    Steve Spurrier to Florida St.
I believe that this would be the perfect fit for both. 1st of all he would be out of the SEC where lets face it he really doesn't have a SERIOUS chance 2 win a championship yr. after yr. @ South Carolina. Then he would be back in the state of Florida in which I believe he's regretted leaving every since he found out that he couldn't win in the NFL. He would get better athletes from the state of Florida & start a REAL recruiting war with Florida & Miami. He could rebuild that program, DOMINATE the ACC & battle with Miami & Virginia Tech every yr. 4 the ACC title & BCS bowl bid. & just IMAGINE the rivalry that he could have with the Gators if they would schedule a non conference game with each other yr. after yr. because we all know that he won't win against Florida while he's @ South Carolina. 2 me it makes perfect sense but of course Bobby Bowden would never sign off on it but if I was the athletic director or part of the administration @ Florida St. I wouldn't wait 4 his approval I would do what's best 4 the future of the program & I would pursue Spurrier.

only the fact is that Fisher will be the next head coach. Florida State already gave him the job and he will be solid. I love Bowden but it is time he gets out of the way, his way is no longer producing results and it is frustrating the shit out of me year after year.

It's a good idea. Wouldn't be pretty, shoving Jimbo aside after they've already arranged him as Bowden's hand-picked successor. Not sure what Spurrier's contract terms are, if FSU could even negotiate with him.

Yeah, Jimbo probably has one of those contracts where if FSU doesn't give him the head coaching job they have to give him a big payout. Spurrier seems to me to be a good fit for FSU, but it's not going to happen.

Yes i'm already aware that they have a replacement plan in place & I would honor that & give him a shot but it wouldn't be long term just a couple of yrs. maybe just 2 see what he can do as the head man in charge but after that if Spurrier wants to come the job would be HIS. The hire would fire up the fan base & it wouldn't take him long to turn things around @ Florida St.

would be great on so many levels...jimbo should already be turning that program around and it's not happening imo.

Spurrier is overrated and the game has passed him by.

Spurrier cares more about golf than anything so this just might happen. I remember when he left the Redskins they were talking on sports open line about where he might end up coaching next. Some guy who was a guest on the show that knew Spurrier well said you could count Spurrier out of coaching a school with a cold weather climate because he loves to play golf so much.
