The Yankees have chosen to play tomorrow
The Twins radio announcers reported that the Yankees have already told the Twins that game 1 will be tomorrow.

Who else thinks that the winner of this classic is gonna be emotionally and physically exhausted tomorrow? I might take the Yankees on the -2.5 run line, it should be a massacre.

The announcers reported it at the beginning of the game. It's not like the Yankees are doing this because of the 12 inning game.

No -2.5 run line for me. Bet heavy on the Yankees ML. It'll be as close to a lock as you get in baseball. IMHO

The Yankees not playing for 3 days will cost them. Twins have seen many pitches the last 3 days and the Yankees have not. Baseball is not like football where you need 5 days to recover.

The Twins are emotionally and physically exhausted and they have to face Sabathia? Come to think of it the Yankees first five innings may be the safe way to go.

                  Twins win tomorrow! Remember 05???

                  Game 1
Tuesday, October 11, 2005 at U.S. Cellular Field in Chicago, Illinois
                  Team123456789RHELos Angeles012000000371Chicago001100000270
WP: Paul Byrd (1-0) LP: José Contreras (0-1) SV: Francisco Rodríguez (1)
HRs: LAA – Garret Anderson (1) CHW – Joe Crede (1)
In the series opener, the Los Angeles Angels of Anaheim won 3-2 in their third game in as many nights and as many cities. The Angels took the lead in the second inning on a Garret Anderson home run. The Angels added two more runs in the third, and then José Contreras allowed no more runs, going 8 1/3 innings. The White Sox tried to chip away at the lead, but only managed to score two runs on seven hits. The Angel relievers were able to hold the Sox scoreless. It was the first time in six tries that the Angels won a game 1 under Mike Scioscia, despite the fact that they won the World Series in 2002.

Sabathia gave up 8 hits 9 runs in 2.2 innings last start. Good luck on your -300 chalk against the hottest team in baseball.

The Yankees were 7-0 v. the Twins this year. If the Twins win game 1 I'll be stunned. It would be a real shocker.

Twins have been playing in almost like playoff games and they could be tough for the Yankees to beat. It wouldn't surprise me at all if that happened that the Twins do win this series because they are the hottest team going into the playoffs. Colorado Rockies a few years back was the same way and they made it to the world series. Twins remind me of how hot Colorado was.

I think it will be more like -200 or so. Paying juice is no problem when there's a great bet.

How can you even site that? You might as well talk about his Spring training stats because that game was meaningless.

thats definatly a high quality post and good thinking, but most likely the game will be at 4 o clock since the cards game is at 9 and they normally dont intertwin the games. On top of that the yanks had the best home record in the 2h of the season combing that with the yanks being 7-0 vs the twins and the twins not being a great road team.

The Twins announcers said it's gonna be a 5 o'clock start. I'm gonna jump on the Yankees as soon as the line comes out because there's gonna be steam on them most likely.

Yeah but Twins are playing for fun without any pressure where the Yankees are playing to justify the huge payrolls. Also the Twins may steal a game or two in New York so that the Yankees can come back and sell more tickets in this down economy where they need to sell the skyboxes to make a profit.

The Yankees announced Tuesday afternoon that no matter the opponent, they would be choosing Wednesday for Game 1, so as not to have to use Joba as a starter in the divisional series.

Let's be honest here, an 8-hour sleep will pretty much recover whatever "physical exhaustion" they had from today. We got remember, they are not THAT old. Emotionally, they should be excited as sh*t here as they made a great come back to get to where they are today. I would expect them to keep on rolling tomorrow.

I don't expect them to win though, but they will give them a good fight.

It was assumed in New York, because of the well-publicized struggles of Joba Chamberlain. It wasn't exactly a secret that the Yankees wanted to avoid starting him at all costs.
