If the Twins would have sent Nathan out to start the 8th this game most likely would have ended in 9 innings, a 4-3 Twins win.

This game wouldn't have been a classic but a routine game, imho. Over backers and Tigers backers were very fortunate, imho.

Bringing in Nathan wasn't the right move in the 8th inning

The only reason is because you're saving him for tomorrow's game. If you look at what's transpired it shows what an error it was. Nathan still pitched 1 2/3 innings and the rest of the bullpen is gonna be worn out too.

I'm listening to the Twins announcers and they were hinting that the Twins should have brought in Nathan to start the 8th (they can't say criticize the Twin's manager for obvious reasons).

I picked the Tigers and feel very fortunate to still have a little chance.

Exactly. Of course Nathan could pitch two innings, no problem. The only reason that I can think of to not have him start the 8th is to save him tommorow's game (that's v. the Yankees btw).

The game against the Yankees. They must have been saving him for that game. Can you think of another reason why they wouldn't send him out to close out the last two innings?

The Tigers are about to send Rodney out for his 4th inning! Of course using your ace for 2 innings in a must win is not a big deal.
