      Would really like to see corn climb back above 4.00 and soybeans back to at least 10.00 sometime before next March.........

        Illinois Soybean Stocks Are Down 37% From Last Year

        This is the lowest amount of soybeans in storage since 2004.

        Corn stocks in all positions in Illinois on Sept. 1, 2009 totaled 298.9 million bushels, up 3% from last year's stocks of 289.1 million bushels. Off-farm stocks, at 208.9 million bushels, accounted for 70% of the total. The indicated disappearance from all positions for the June-August quarter was 517 million bushels, 16% more than a year ago.

        Stocks of soybeans on Sept. 1, 2009 totaled 21.9 million bushels, 37% less than last year's level of 34.7 million bushels. This is the lowest recorded amount of soybeans in storage at this time of year since September 2004. Off-farm stocks, at 14.9 million bushels, accounted for 68% of the total. The indicated disappearance from all positions for the June-August quarter was 69.0 million bushels, 11% less than at this time last year.

        Wheat stocks on Sept. 1, 2009 totaled 58.3 million bushels, 18% above September 2008. Off-farm stocks of 50.3 million bushels accounted for 86% of the total.

        U.S. old crop corn stocks in all positions on Sept. 1, 2009 totaled 1.67 billion bushels, up 3% from one year ago. Of the total stocks, 608 million bushels are stored on farms, up 22% from a year earlier. Off-farm stocks, at 1.07 billion bushels, are down 5% from a year ago. The June-August 2009 indicated disappearance is 2.59 billion bushels, compared with 2.40 billion bushels during the same period last year.

        Old crop soybeans stored in all positions totaled 138 million bushels, down 33% from one year ago. Soybean stocks stored on farms totaled 35.1 million bushels, down 25% from a year ago. Off-farm stocks, at 103 million bushels, are down 35% from last September. Indicated disappearance for June-August 2009 totaled 458 million bushels, down 3% from the same period a year earlier.

        All wheat stored in all positions totaled 2.22 billion bushels, up 19% from a year ago. On-farm stocks are estimated at 840 million bushels, up 32% from last September. Off-farm stocks, at 1.38 billion bushels, are up 12% from a year ago. The June-August 2009 indicated disappearance is 661 million bushels, down 30% from the same period a year earlier.
