USC is number one in the Sagarin Ratings?
    How is this possible?

I study the mathematics behind the polls and different ratings yet I look at these and see USC with a loss ranked number one? I am apoplectic as to how this can be mathematically explained.

That is embarrassing. Don't see how they can justify that.

They are actually 4th in the Sagarin ratings for what is used for the BCS...........

        1. LSU
        2. ALABAMA
        3. IOWA
        4. USC

One uses the ELO CLASS for the true sagarin ranking.............for BCS purposes.

Arizona is doing Iowa well right now as they have not suffered a loss yet other than to Iowa................. as is Northern Iowa who is outscoring their opponents 193-21 since their lone loss to Iowa.

IOWA has also won NINE straight games dating back to last season, the 2nd longest streak in the country.

I like the Sagarin more for CBB than CFB, seems to be a little better suited for more games.

Interesting note to those who say Sagarin ratings and predictions are totally off - now the season has 5 weeks in the books I checked the Sagarin method (difference plus a very generic and questionable 3 pts for home advantage) against the lines for the 48 games posted at BetPhx (Got lines from BTP contest) and of the 48 games, 44 of them were within a touchdown of the actual spread. Will watch the 4 games more than a TD out and see how they do, although I personally hate all 4 of those picks lol.

T'would be nice if the archived ratings were available on a week-by-week basis for further research.
