Oklahoma (-7) at Miami and Dal (-2.5) at Denver - I must say I am very pleasantly surprised both of these spreads came back some. Oklahoma was as high as -8 (I assume it came back because Herald won't play) and Dallas was at -3.
Oklahoma looks like the much heralded machine they were supposed to be coming in at the beginning of the season before their slip up against BYU. Miami has proven very little in beating a suspect and highly overrated at the time Florida State team and whooping up on a surprisingly bad Georgia Tech team. As I posted in a previous post a popular sportsbook has Oklahoma estimated to win this game by 22 points in their matchup report. I'm not going to say that will happen, but I will say I expect the Sooners to win by 10 or more, and you should too.
Denver is undefeated at 3-0. Home game for them. They crushed arguably the 2 worst teams in the NFL in Oakland and Cleveland and as we all know they had their miraculous finish against an upstart Cincinnati team. To me this gives them one legitimate win against a decent team, and they needed a miracle to do it.
What's to like about Dallas, world renowned for their inconsistent play? How about dominating a Carolina team and handling an admittedly horrid team in Tampa Bay. How about hanging with and just barely losing to a unanimous top 5 NFL team in the Giants? Good enough for me. Romo will continue to get more in sync with his receivers, and for the Boys running attack does it really matter if it's Barber, Jones or Choice? Not as far as I'm concerned it doesn't matter much as any combination will produce more than enough. Not even giving a field goal here is a gift to me and a perfect example of the action you can get early in the season before talent on teams really rises to the top and the books adjust the spreads accordingly.
