Unreal I Just Lost Thousands in Pitbull Poker
The Party is Over at Pitbull Poker
    09.30.2009 (09:54 AM CST)
As reported previously on PokerRoomReview.com, allegations of super-user accounts being used to cheat players at Pitbull Poker appear to have finally come to a head for the maligned online poker site. Reports out of Costa Rica indicate that the owners of Pitbull closed shop in the early morning hours yesterday, raiding the offices of computers and equipment that may have served as evidence against them in the cheating scandal.

According to 2+2 forum poster “dbreal” (allegedly former Pitbull Poker manager Dave Brenes), the owners of Pitbull “were taken by the local police thanks to the quick reaction of fellow co-workers who were suspecting foul play and arrived at the office after hours to find them taking out computers and equipment from the offices.” In addition to owing online players their balances, the directors of the company apparently were attempting to leave under the cover of darkness without paying their employees. According to “dbreal”, the principal of Pitbull “was taken for interrogation as many people at the scene claimed he was trying to leave without notice …”

As of this writing, the Pitbull Poker website still appears to be online. However, existing players are unable to login and, when we attempted to create a new account, we were met with repeated application errors. While this is certainly not the end to the saga, it appears that the “party” is indeed over at Pitbull Poker. The main question now on players’ minds is whether or not they’ll ever see a penny of their balances from Pitbull. We’ll update with any related developments.

Is there any reason for people to play at sites other than Pokerstars and FullTilt?

When I do feel like playing online (not that much these days) I play through TheGreek. I believe it is cakepoker. Also, I believe if cake went down Greek would make good, besides, I never leave a poker balance. I transfer all poker money back to sports before I quit.

5 dimes actually had 2 poker rooms this one and 3d true poker.

I knew pitbull was not rated that high but if they tried to stiff could just get the chips over to a 5 dimes account

I doubt they pay anything small site but still got to be a ton of money stolen.

I don't play there but I am pretty sure the players are stronger on those sites.

If this was a 5dimes host, I would be knocking on their doors asking them what they were going to do about it. Probably nothing, but if it was my money, I'd at least be rattling the cage.

People who played in this room through 5 dimes are not going to lose their money.

I don't know what the deal was exactly either 5 dimes got a % of rake or they just hoped thier players would lose, but they are not going to take on pitbull balances especially since most of the guys do not even bet sports.

One of the biggest things that Stars and Tilt have that others don't is a proven collusion department. They monitor who sits at what tables and for how long. If they think they see anything fishy, they'll investigate and put an end to it. I received a refund at random one time because they busted up a ring and I had no idea I was playing with one. I mean, I could set up multiple users, dial in from remote connections, and play at the same time. And if someone like me with limited computer knowledge could do it...

That said I'm totally comfortable with my $ on stars, tilt, and bodog. I won't ever play higher limit cash games though...but tournaments I am comfortable with.

After Absolute Poker, UB......how can anyone play online with real money anymore?

No regulatory oversight = easy profit for the poker rooms. Every player will take bad beats and poor play - that keeps winning big pots - with suspicion - regardless of the truth.

Collusion is the hardest thing to stop, and the only reason to play online is to practice for live play these days.

The most ironic thing about on line poker is that the PPA is driving to get it legalized while attempting to use the prohibition of offshore online sportsbooks to their advantage.

Its amazing that all the rake money sites like Absolute and UB make they would even result to stealing from their players, also amazing that after admitting they have superuser accounts that play the high stakes games while seeing everyone's cards face up that anyone would still trust them. But I suppose at the lower limits they might not rig the games when they can steal from all their biggest players faster.

Good grief, Pit bull is not a valid site. I have my heavy swingers, mainly Pokerstars and Sportsbook and Bodog, and I was gonna branch out into cakepoker, reefer poker, but Pitbull sounded like a sure thing. Thanks for the geez, hot news. I wanna do one of those deposits and then get a matching thing, for around $600 but I (gulp) sure don't want a poker website closing before I can earn the bonus...
