Are there many die-hard Kentucky Basketball fans still out there that remember the "golden-years" when you had star basketball players playing for UK that were "actually" , born Kentuckians ?
Well,I was one ,but not anymore .
It's just not that interesting when you have "star" players coming from all over the nation representing Kentucky Basketball ?
And this year's team will probably win a ton of games, but do the old-diehard fan's have the same proudful feelings when an out of state player,or players, are consistently dominating their wins ?
No more catchy Kentucky names like Cliff Hagan,Jack Givens,Wah Wah Jones,Frank Ramsey,Dicky Lyons,Johnny Cox,Ralph Beard are around ?
Now it's names like DeMarcus Cousins, DeAndre Liggins, big stars, guy's born in some other foreign region of the USA ,putting on that Ol' Traditional, Kentucky Blue and White .
It's like KENTUCKY is buying a National Championship ,right ?
Okay,I'll let the young Kentucy fans enjoy their "bought" season, and like their "Golden Basketball Tradition" ,I will have to fade away like the long-gone fan's of,now ghosts, " Rupp's Runts", and "The Fiddlin Five " !

do you remember Alex Groza, brother of Lou?. Of course he was not from KY, but from Ohio - close enough. Great memories of Ky basketball and the pt shaving scandal that got Groza banned for life from NBA. Those were the days.

No,I do remember reading about it years later though .
But 'Ol Kentucky born Granddad would fondly remember !
He never missed listening on the radio to "Wildcat " games .
He has his own traditional comfort zone too when listening to UK WILDCATS ,he would get a cane-back chair and he would turn around and sit face backwards ,while folding his arms on the top back of the caneback .I witnessed him doing that many many times .
Man, he loved those Wildcats !
