After a weekend of some ridiculous shit, just took the biggest shot on the Col-St. Louis game. After writing about Colorado, on the rubber match I fell in love with the Over. Even buying it down from 9.5 to 9 (-125).
Regardless of the silly stories within the game that hurt me, top 9th, Col up 4-3. Cards have Lugo on 3rd, Pujols on 1st, 1 out. A run ties the game, guaranteeing me at least a push on a very large bet.
I think it was Ludwick, hits a bloop to the short outfield. Barmes is running out, and makes an amazing backwards rolling catch. I think I just pushed at the very least, as the fielder is rolling around the field like a bowling ball.
Nope. For some unknown reason (I've tried to think out the logic a million times, can't figure it out) Pujols was running blindly. Guy gets up, throws to first, double play.
Why he would run blindly there, I don't know. Go halfway. If it drops, you trot to 2nd, tie game. If he makes an amazing catch, you trot back to 1st, tie game. The game's best player just made about the dopiest base running play ever.
Anyways...I'm angry and unloading because I'm an idiot. Fukk the Prophecy Philosophy Frog of Profitability.
