There is a very small percentage of people that can do it for consistent profit, but they don't do it by trying to pick winners like you and I. They do it by having accounts at every book in the world and making +EV wagers based on lines.

You need to start looking at your gambling money as discretionary income for entertainment purposes. Would you go out of town and spend $500 on a weekend vacation if all your bills were past due and your water was turned off? Can you afford a vacation right now? Then you can't afford to be gambling either.

Quit thinking about sports gambling as something you can make money doing. A very few people can. You can't. I can't. Well that's good to hear. I was under the illusion that I could steadily make money doing this up until about 4 or 5 months ago, when I went busted again. At the time, I simply could not responsibly fund my account with the bills I had due. So I was went without gambling. I actually could have refunded my account a few weeks later, but I chose not to. I made it until the 1st week of football season and finally broke down and put some money in the account. But by that time I had saved several thousand dollars and could afford to spend some of it on gambling/entertainment.

I'm up about $200 since depositing and will play with my initial deposit through the football season. If I lose it all next week, I'm done. I can say that and mean it because I just did it with baseball. I wasn't sure 6 months ago if I could seriously quit, but after going without it for 4 months and still posting on this board and never once getting the uncontrollable urge to have action, I feel good about the future with this. I learned that I don't really need it. I bet you could do the same thing if you had to.
