Oddsmakers know the wings are a heavy public betting team.. gamblers love DET.. the perfect example is NYY and Lakers.. if you bet NYY the last 10 yrs, you'd be down 100k at 1k a game.. If you bet the best team in NBA last year and defending champs lakers every game, you'd have lost money.. (and they went 65-17, too) that's right, LOST MONEY betting lakers all year last year.

the best is to wait till right around game time when all the square money and chase money comes in on those teams. this way, you will get a better price going against them when the line shoots up even higher. and if it's a natl' tv game, you will get even better value..

I made this thread so Nicky would come in and give me expert advice, know one knows hockey like this young lad.

Kings could be a big surprise in the West.

I expect big years from Kopitar and O'Sullivan.

Yes, your right. I am so out of tune with hockey since moving from Toronto to Cincinnati.

Not a very good trade in my opinion, alot of up side with O'Sullivan. Hopefully Jarret Stoll can finally prove his worth. This team is absolutely filled with young talent, and I can see them having a year similar to the Hawks of last.

Honestly, O'Sullivan could never take his game to the next level with the Kings. He's got a ton of talent, but he got first-line ice time and always looked a half step behind what he SHOULD be. I wish him the best and hopefully for him Edmonton can get it out of him.

Justin Williams is an incredibly fast skater, has a cup, and can be a 30-goal scorer what healthy. I think it was a good trade for the Kings; even if O'Sullivan goes on to become a 30-goal scorer someday, it seemed pretty clear he wasn't going to do it in a Kings jersey. Some guys need the change of scenery.

The Canes being my team, I'm thankful for everything JW did in Raleigh. He was instrumental in our Stanley Cup season.
You nailed it on the head vd, can be a 30-goal scorer when healthy. Talent's not the issue, staying on the ice is.

                                          Right on...

As you also know, the injuries that have kept him off the ice have been kind of freakish, (not like say a lingering concussion or anything), so hopefully with a bit of good fortune he can avoid those injuries moving forward.

It was funny, I thought the Canes got the worst of that deal, getting a UFA to be in Erik Cole... but I'll be damned, he really is a perfect fit on that team. Glad to see him sign the extension, and this just might be one of those trades that all three teams benefit from. Time will tell.

I think your right vd.........I can see this trade benefiting all three. Erik Cole is a perfect fit in Carolina, they love him down there. Remember back in 2002 when the BBC line was made famous (Brind Amour, Battaglia, Cole). Cole is just a tough, gritty guy that enjoys playing in a Hurricane uniform. He doesn't snipe to many ginos, but he seems to snipe em at the most opportune times.

Let's hope JW can stay on the ice, and use his experience, leadership and ability to guide the kid Kings to the playoffs

I've already challenged you, but you want to do it with an orange ball on a tennis court. Nicky, get some ice time in Montreal and I will show you more than a thing or 2. We can invite Blitty to attend the event and he will be an honorary referee.

                                              I'm serious.
