I do. I refuse to walk into the grocery store with a cloth bag.

Some of the chains (Loblaws, Independent grocer) started charging 5 cents per plastic bag. I don't mind paying it.

I have a reusable shopping bag, but if I exceed its volume then I always ask for plastic bags. They make awesome fire starters for my hearth.

        Fukking thieves.

I was at local hardware store a couple of weeks ago with $350 worth of electrical shit.

They wanted to charge me 5 cents at the counter, told her if she charged me, she can go and restock shelves herself, I will buy my shit elsewhere.
Manager finally showed up and gave me the bags. ****ing tree hugging wankers.

        Thanks for the points, Sickler!

I put one over my head when I'm rubbing one out, really gives you an intense feeling at that "special moment".

Everyone has. It was a governmental thing.

As of June 1, 2009, everyone in Toronto will have to pay a five cent fee for plastic bags. Shoppers in Toronto will want to remember to bring their own bags to the grocery store starting Monday.

On June 1, the City of Toronto starts requiring stores to charge a nickel for single-use plastic bags. Proceeds from the fee go towards the retailers - not the city.

I don't live in Toronto. Maybe it's a municipal thing and not provincial or federal?

Not sure what the law is where I live but only some stores charge for the bags.

Use them for small garbage containers in the house. Will recycle them by bring them to Cub Foods as they have a spot to drop them off. I won't carry a reusable cloth bag around when I shop.

                                          uhhhh... I wouldn't advise that.

I use the plastic bags for garbage.

I am going to start using cloth bags if I do regular shopping, though.

I didn't say I was against them, I think they're great. When I use them to start fires they are no longer taking up space in the landfills, and thus I have made them green.
