My girlfriend is from the Buffalo area(she actually attended UB).

My locals will give me good lines and virtually unlimited credit. They are not afraid of a big bet either like so many of the so called bookies offshore and especially Europe. If you are not a shottaking nitwit and can do some rudimentary math, the locals can be a great help to the bottom line.

My locals are the best. I can bet as much as I want the only thing with them is the minimum bet is $100 even for parlays but they are sound and they always pay. Obviously not getting the best # sometimes is dangerous but I got rams at +9.5 on sunday so sometimes you get very good #s.

Seems to me locals take bigger bets than offshore books and if reasons is they have better cash flow, low overhead and string collections. I use a local from time to time as leverage.

Never Had a problem with a local here in Buffalo I know 3, and all are quick to pay and easy to pay if you're down.

have used locals in miami and in detroit.. i got stiffed by a local in detroit for 3k. but i don't think it was the local's fault.. he had a runner on campus.. and i think that kid in the end took my money.. didn't really matter because i didn't know the local directly , only the runner.. so in the end the runner ended up having to get a dose of reality..

my miami local was great i had two of them. but they we old school cubans who made a boatload off ya-yo when miami was a much more open place... there is no room for the outside entrepreneurs in that business anymore, and these guys decided they had made plenty.... so these guys just took bets for fun.. no point buying.. and team totals.. but they had 6pt football/ 4 pt basketball teasers. and took parlays.. only thing i didn't like was o/u were -120.. but i have come to find out that a lot of places/locals do that.. so it isn't so far from the norm....A local is great if he is using his own lines and not just taking action and using an online book to offset his action or uses that online book to monitor his lines.. you can get a lot of "homer" action and go the other way if you use a local setting his own lines.. which makes them a must out..

Also i had a 10k handle with the cubans and my juice was like 2.5 % week to week if i didn't pay.. in the end it was a pretty decent deal and paid and collected from them several times.. A few of my homies back home still use them... you just better be sure you can at least understand or speak a little spanish.... I never figured out how to say "teaser" in spanish.. but me saying it with a spanish flare is hysterical
