Don't know what has gotten into me and I'm sure I'll relapse into it shortly but I am an avid recreational player of all things, horses, poker, slots, sports. I just haven't made a single bet or wager in what feels like ages. Other than a few random spans over the last 5-7 years of my life this has not happened.
The sad thing is I always thought that not gambling would lead to me having more money to spend and keep somewhat bankrolled with college spending and living in the city but fukk it I'm no richer or poorer had I been losing chunks on gambling.
Moral of the story here is, and I suppose a question to those on the board.
Do many of you only gamble when you have nothing else to fill the void or are not happy with yourself?
Being in Philly at school, keeping busy with new people, old friends, family and class work has really filled a void that I believe I had stuffed with gambling. I was unemployed for the last year or so and the only thing that kept me going some days was waiting for the games to start or going to the track, just the substance of it I suppose.
While this is all a bit unorganized I just wanted to put this out there and see how anyone else felt about it or the issue.
