Can you have multiple credit cards from the same company?
I already have a **** card, if I apply for a Rewards ****, will it just replace the old one and have the same debt, or will it act as an entirely separate card?

**** is not the company. A company would be Citibank, Bank of America, Washington Mutual, etc <-----the bank. And yes you can have multiple **** and multiple cards under a single bank.

oh ok, i wouldn't have guessed that. would the same company/bank give u another card even if you have a card with them already that's near being maxed out (minimum payments are being fulfilled each month though)

sorry for turning u into my financial advisor...

You can have multiple ****'s with a particular bank as well. Some banks like Chase for example may have 5 different types of **** cards and you can have multiple cards with on particular bank.

Masu....you just have to apply and keep your fingers crossed. Having a card that is maxed out is questionable. I don't advise over extending yourself (i.e SEE my thread on Chase Manhattan). However I have 5 under Chase. i have never applied for a card under the condition of having a card "maxed out" under the same bank. They may extend a small line of credit to you though.

I have all sorts of cards under the same banks. They'll use different marketing strategies with each one.
