Iowa has THREE key guys out today!!!

Pre-season All-american OT BULAGA,......... TE MOEAKI(team leader in receptions),............ and WR JOHNSON.

The Hawkeyes lost top RB Hampton to start the season and now are dealing with severe injuries every week to other key personel.

Yesterday at this time, all three of the above guys were PROBABLE in my estimation.........so this comes as somewhat of a shock to me this morning...........my feeling is they may want these three as close to 100% healthy vs. PSU next weekend.

IOWA will have to reley and get good production with a host of FRESHMAN today,..................... which will include but not be limited to two FRESHMAN RB's(Robinson and Wegher) and a FRESHMAN WR(Davis)

Iowa's outstanding defense will have to rise to the occassion today if they expect to win against the Wildcats of Arizona.

With three key players out on offense for the Hawks, VEGAS DAVE must be smiling brightly, as he as loved the UNDER in this game all week............this only adds to the icing on the cake for him.

One thing that will not be a factor is the weather, as I just called my friends who are tailgating at the game and they say the weather is perfect.

UA has their best player out too. Gronkowski. He is a awesome TE.
If Iowa can stop the run then they will win, UA has nothing else to go to then.

Losing their TE is very damaging to the Hawkeyes..........as not only does IOWA reley on their TE probably more so than any team in the country, but Moeaki is one of the very best in the country.

UA's Gronkowski IS the best TE in the country, and now he might reshirt. UA is screwed.

DES MOINES, Iowa — The Arizona Wildcats arrived in Iowa on Friday without star tight end Rob Gronkowski, who remained in Tucson to deal with the lower back strain that has kept him from playing this season.

On Wednesday, coach Mike Stoops said the junior would not play against Iowa today but would make the trip. Stoops could make an announcement on Gronkowski's injury — and future — as soon as today. A handful of UA fan Web sites report Gronkowski, who has taken part in just a few practices since injuring his back over the summer, will redshirt.

Stoops declined comment through spokesman Tom Duddleston when reached before Friday night's team dinner. Stoops is expected to make an announcement following today's game or at Monday's weekly news conference on campus.

Gronkowski was an all-conference tight end as a sophomore, and heading into 2009 was a favorite to win the John Mackey Award, given annually to the nation's top tight end.

UA has their best player out too. Gronkowski. He is a awesome TE.
If Iowa can stop the run then they will win, UA has nothing else to go to then.

If Iowa can force ARI into more than a few 3RD and longs, the very oppurtunistic Iowa secondary(one of the best in the country) should be able to pick off at least a couple of passes from the young ARI signal caller and this may turn out to be the difference in the game.

However, the same could be said from an ARIZONA perspective.......as Iowa is very thin in the recieving corps with their TE out and one of their experienced WR's...........not to mention thier all-american LT who is a tremendous pass blocker.

Arizona is 8-17 on the road during the Stoops era. Iowa is 39-8 at home since 2002.

Arizona hasn't won a non-conference road game since 2001. None under Stoops.

Should be a good defensive game as both the Stoops brothers(MIke and Mark) return back to Iowa where they played as players in the 80's, I think.
