I think USC will be fine. Corp was going to be the starter until he hurt his leg. Vegas Dave might have more insight but I know Corp was a highly recruited player.

USC quarterback Aaron Corp has been chosen to start the Trojans' Pac-10 opener against Washington on Saturday, a person briefed on the decision told ESPN's Joe Schad on Friday.

ESPN.com's Ted Miller writes about all things Pac-10 in his conference blog.

                  College Football Nation

Freshman Matt Barkley is expected to regain his status as starter when he is healthy enough to resume throwing, the source said. Barkley continues to experience pain in his bruised right (throwing) shoulder, which was injured in the third-ranked Trojans' 18-15 victory at Ohio State last weekend.
USC coach Pete Carroll said Thursday that Barkley is improving every day, and Carroll wants to give him as much time as possible to heal before ruling him out against Washington.
Following Thursday's practice, Carroll said he still hasn't made a decision on who will be the starter, adding he might wait until Saturday's game (ABC, 3:30 p.m. ET) before making an announcement.
Corp, a junior, took all the snaps with the first-team offense Thursday and Carroll pronounced him ready to go if needed. Barkley did some light throwing on the side.
ESPN reporter Shelley Smith contributed to this story.

He is a more mobile QB, parade all american, red shirted, 3rd string last season after going 2-14 in the air. He will get buried tomorrow.

Buried against Washington? One win in two seasons Washington? The Trojans may not cover but I doubt if Corp will get "buried". He doesn't have to do much except handoff to one of six Parade All American RB's.

If your read my previous comment, I said USC may not cover..... Therefore it's a stay away game for me.

But I think Corp will be fine.

Buried is not covering the spread obviously.

Corp will do fine. It was his starting job, remember, before he got injured during fall practices.

I wouldn't worry about USC's offense. They will likely run a similar offense to the one they did against San Jose State; lots of running and lots of nice and easy safe roll out passes. Corp is more than capable of handling this offense. Washington's secondary and D-Line are both susceptible, and I highly doubt Corp will have anything to do with USC getting "burried"

All it comes down to is whether or not you think Jake Locker can keep his phenomenal start going against USC's defense.

USC will get into the high 30s/low 40s with Corp just as easily as they would have with Barkley. If you like Washington with the points, parlay it with the over.

Too bad you didn't have the balls to call the outright upset, that would have been even more impressive
