Here's a good article about why we are in a constant state of war around the world.
How can the world's largest superpower (1/2 of the world's military spending!) be in "wars" against the tiniest of countries and we haven't declared a victory since 1945?

It becomes painfully obvious that the point of war isn't to win, it's just to continue it while selling weapons to both sides.
