They are always going to discuss charging someone who kills someone else, regardless of the circumstances. 95% of the time in a case like this they're not going to press charges. Either real ballsy or real stupid to do what the kid did but clearly the guy who bit it failed at life big time. Should be interesting to see the what the crime rate is for that area in a few months.

Susan Boswell, the dean of student life at Hopkins, said in a statement that she was "relieved to report that the student was not harmed," but she also advised other students not to follow the swordsman's example.

"If you ever suspect that there is a prowler in your residence or on your property, call 911 immediately," Boswell said. "Experts advise that you do not attempt to confront the intruder, but rather secure yourself in a locked area until police arrive."
Question: If you call the Baltimore police and tell them that you think there might be a burglar in your garage, what will their response time be? And when they do arrive 20-30 minutes later and all of your shit is gone, what are the odds that the officer is going to tell you something like, "Honestly, there's not much hope in having your stolen articles returned."

According to the article the slain burglar was a career criminal. Guess he finally got what was coming to him.

WB and CL EXACTLY my thoughts... I lived in a similar neighborhood sophomore-senior year of college at UB. The area was probably 50% college kids and then 50% lower income minorities. I did not have ONE single friend or acquaintence that did not have their car broken into and/or their house broken into. I caught a guy crawling through my living room window in mid day, I pulled my shot gun on him and he freaked the hell out. My girlfriend at the time had her house broken into while we were at the bar, the guy was still in the basement stealing CANS! We called the police and they didnt show up for over 30 minutes. They dont give a shit about that stuff, this guy deserved to be killed and would be an absolutle shame if some minority DA feels pressure from the community and charges this kid...

Justice is served, no grand jury will ever bring the charges against the kid.

Should give the kid a metal, guy was a career criminal and just got out of jail. One less POS in the world.
