Delaware update: Will appeal decision to full appeals court week 1 succesful
Delaware has appealed the ruling to the full 3rd ciruit court of appeals Monday. They argue the ruling does not mesh with earlier supreme court rulings on the subject. The three Racinos also state that week 1 was pretty good with the parlay betting and that numbers for total volume/profit will be released by a government official on Friday. At one point lines were 100 people deep at Delaware park according to reports but this was in part due to a computer glitch that caused a short delay.

If the parlay wagering had flopped....Delaware would just have folded up their appeal tent.

          But.

Since they made money with parlays....they see the potential for megacash.

I mean if week 1 with parlay betting was very succesful then they would not bother appealing to try to get single game betting and other sports etc. If they lose the appeal they will be dumping in a lot more effort and lawyers fees so they must either think its worth the risk or that the parlay betting won't be very profitable. I am sure the busy first week is in part just due to curious people. If by week 8 and more importantly next season it remains busy will be the real test.

Did not think of it this way but you may be right, they also may just be under pressure from the Racinos since they did dump $12 mil into building the books. I hope they can get it done in court but just don't see that happening. I still maintain that if they got full slate they would KILL vegas numbers because they are in the midst of the east coast where most gamblers are Vegas is a resort destination not a hey I like the texans line this week lets fly out and bet it whereas if someone really liked the texans game in any major east coast city they would drive to delaware
