I disagree w/ Phelps thing. Will he dominate swimming for as long as Federer has dominated tennis? Maybe he's already achieved amazing results, but so has Rafa Nadal, doesn't mean he won't hit the wall eventually. Federer has been in his prime for a long time.

Comparing Nadal to Phelps is nuts Lou. If Phelps stopped right now, he would go down as the best swimmer of all time. Look at his accomplishments. Its just unreal.

Olympic centered sports are different than a sport like tennis. The main attraction is only held every 4 years.

Phelps had 8 medals from 2004, THEN WON 8 GOLD MEDALS IN 2008.

Phelps holds 7 or 8 world records from different distances and different styles of swimming. Nobody has totally dominated any sport like Phelps has dominated swimming. I will say that Fed is the 2nd best athlete behind Phelps right now. That may change over time.
