I m form India and i want to make some serious money betting on cricket(a popular sport in india)!!

Can u all plz help me answering the following questions,if not answer, any comments, suggestion wud be appreciated, guys come on jus drop a line......

    1. which is better-- sportsbook or betting exchanges?why?

    2. which is the best sportsbook satisfying in-play live betting on cricket, with high limits, security of funds, fast payouts?

    3. betting on cricket is illegal according to the local laws in India here(but no clear defination as to weather online betting is illegal or not, is present in Indian constitutional books!!). can u plz suggest steps i sud take to avoid getting caughting by the local authorities?

    4. betfair seems to exchange informaton about their customers personal details with authorities like ICC(international cricket council) to prevent match fixing and illegal betting? so am i at risk if i bet with betfair? will they send my detalis to ICC and then to Indian authroituies probably landing me in jail?

    5. wat wud be the safest method of drawing and depositing funds? wud it be cards or neteller or any other............

    7. anybody from India reading this post and interested in betting on cricket??kindly lemme know, we can discuss some really serious things!

Go with betfair if they offer cricket. Unless you're a newbie with a huge bankroll, your government won't care. Namaste.

betfair would seem a very good choice to me. as you say yourself, betfair only (very sporadically) reports bettors suspected of match fixing to the relevant sports body. if they accept people from india in the first place, they apparently do not care much about your nations laws and have no incentive to report you (and also i doubt or your government will even care that much), so you should be fine.

        Welcome to the forum indiabiz001!
I love your post with all the smilies.
I also love cricket. As a youngster I thought it was boring, but that all changed in 1997 when I had my very first bet on it. In regards to BetFair simply do not bet on it in-running. It is full of sharks that either take advantage of televised time delays or you will be facing trading activities. On top of that BetFair indeed does a good job in criminalising winning. Anyone surprised turnover is dropping dramatically? Not me!

your money and winnings are safe there. i trust them as much as you should trust any betting operation.

with regards to you being suspected of insider trading, it's really a very far-fetched idea. they have hundreds of thousands of customers, who are never suspected of anything, and some bet big numbers. i don't know what your plans are, but unless you want to bet millions of dollars on some obscure cricket-match, and you also happen to be best mates with one of the players of the side you are betting against who happens not to be playing very well that day, there's really nothing to worry about.

My wife is into cricket hardcore. But Im not a fan as I have been living in the US since I was 5. Its all about the pigskin baby. She watches India play all their games. It starts about 9-10pm central standard time so you gotta stay up all night to watch it in the US. Im guessing if you are good, you can make good money on cricket with the World Cup starting next month. Good Luck to you guys.
