Not to get ahead of ourselves here, because I think Texas poses a decent threat to the Buckeyes tomorrow night, but in the event OSU prevails as expected, how in the world does Dame stand a chance? Remember last time the Irish took to the field in a title game? Bama beat the socks off 'em from start to finish. Looking like we could get round two.

Texas -2.5 -120 over ND DK
Ohio St over ND at DK looks nice. Come back over the top if the line hits double digits. Same with Tex -2.5 -120 right now.
Ohio St -9.5 -122 FD
Texas -3 FD
Two weeks ago the future line was Tex -1.5 over Ohio St.Comment -

#17Huge reaction to rose bowl. before the granddaddy of them all, osu was -1 1/2 vs texas on the future line. over 80% of the money on osu. line stuck -6. Texas' defense is damn good and can ugly up this game, out physical the lines like Michigan did
i like Texas to cover tonight
then that 2.2:1 moneyline

#18I don’t know. The last two years now Ohio State had “vaunted offenses” that the media claimed were unstoppable with Stroud and Marvin Harrison Jr. Just curious…how many points did they score against Notre Dame?
There’s something to be said for Al Golden and that defense. No I’m not picking ND to win because I don’t think they can score enough points. But this has a good chance of being a 24-17 type of game…far from “destroying” them. Learn from the past. Marcus Freeman and Al Golden can contain Ohio State’s high-flying offense. They have before…one of those games being in the Shoe.Comment -

The problem with ND is that their offense won't be able to stay on the field and possess the ball enough. You keep putting guys like TreVeon and Jerimiyah out there and eventually the dam will break. The Irish have also shown some vulnerability in their run defense. Plus there's a night and day difference between what weapons Penn State had on the outside and what Ohio State has on the outside.. Furthermore, the injuries keep mounting for ND and at some point you'd expect diminishing returns.
Texas could make things interesting tonight, I'm not writing them off, but if the Buckeyes make it to the final, it's all set up on the tee for them to crush it out of the park.Comment -

#20I made the mistake of picking Ohio State to blow Notre Dame out in 2022 and 2023. But both times the ND defense shut down the Ohio State offense. I am simply not making that mistake again should they play. This Irish defense is no joke. Al Golden is the best DC in college football and I’m not sure it’s even close. I agree on the ND offense but that running back they have is scary good and they always seem to find a way to score points. 23 against Georgia and 27 vs Penn State and those two teams have damned good lines, too.Originally posted by Eddy MunnyI think your analysis applies to tonight's game more so.

I guess my point is this is not Brian Kelly’s Notre Dame. They’re no joke. Do I think they’ll beat Ohio State? No. But damn I definitely think they have what it takes to keep it close. That is a damned good football team in South Bend.Comment -

#21Their defense gave up 557 yards to USC. Other than that, what dynamic offenses have they faced? Louisville is decent and they went over 4 bills as well. I just don't see a path to success for the Irish. There's too many problems that cannot be remedied by a passionate halftime speech from Freeman this time.Originally posted by navyblue81I made the mistake of picking Ohio State to blow Notre Dame out in 2022 and 2023. #23And Ohio State scored barely anything against Michigan. We can get picky about a game here or a game there all we want. But that defense shut down a good Ohio State offense two years in a row. Why can’t they do it again? Don’t tell me this Ohio State offense is that much better than the ones that faced Notre Dame the last two years. Those OSU offenses had CJ Stroud and Marvin Harrison.Originally posted by Eddy MunnyTheir defense gave up 557 yards to USC. Other than that, what dynamic offenses have they faced? I don’t think this OSU offense is any better than the ones with Stroud leading the team or even McCord with Harrison last year. #28I do because Al Golden is a genius defensive coach who has shown he can shut down high powered offenses like Ohio State before. I get it….you have a deep hate for Notre Dame and it’s clouding your judgment. But truth is they can play with anyone. Hell they took the SEC champs to the woodshed and punched them in the mouth.Originally posted by Eddy MunnyWho cares what happened last year with different rosters? #29Oh shut the fukk up already. I was being more than fair with you and addressing every one of your points with my counter points. But now you've gone and played the "deep hate for my team" card, deploying typical liberal logic that prioritizes feelings above all else. If you don't want to be an adult then just shut the fukk up. I was plenty respectful of your position, we had differing opinions which is fine, but now you're whining and I'm done.Originally posted by navyblue81I do because Al Golden is a genius defensive coach who has shown he can shut down high powered offenses like Ohio State before. #30Just telling the truth dude. You weren’t making any sense. You totally discounted the fact that Notre Dame has a great defense and counter it with “They haven’t played anybody” when in fact they’re 7-0 against ranked teams this year and 2-0 against top 5 teams. That’s not beating anybody? Shutting down the SEC champs is a point we should just ignore? The fact Al Golden has twice shut down Ohio State’s high-powered offense shouldn’t mean anything? And I only played that card because you’ve done nothing but bash ND the last few years on this board. You have a history.Originally posted by Eddy MunnyOh shut the fukk up already. #32I think they have to win this game first.
Eddy prob didn't watch Howard play Oregon first game or the Michigan game.
Or his bigger games at KSU in 4th quarter close game clutch situations. Howard loves to make the big mistake. He can roll when they get leads and the defense gets stops and or good field position... he can roll with the talent around him. But he hates the end of game clutch situation. Already threw that ugly pick in the 3rd quarter to a LB who was clearly sinking in coverage. Blind.
I would love to see Howard come up clutch here... seeing as I live in Ohio and the diehards will be crying all week if they lose. We shall see.Comment -
