#4Long time ago, bruh. Pretty weak that he would let it bother him.
He DOES have a point. It was a lame dive. You know WHO we should blame?
The Official Scorer! Just like a baseball game. Has to be a passing play to be a sack. I would have credited it only if Brett allowed Strahan to body-slam him.Where's the fuckin power box, Carol?Comment -

#5Does Gastineau feel like Favre robbed him of a chance at the HOF?
He's the Single-Season Sack Leader. And then he isn't.
However, I don't think Mark was viewed as a HOF player. Critics will say that he was a pass-rush only guy. Not regarded as a run-stuffer, so not an elite all-around Def Lineman.Where's the fuckin power box, Carol?Comment -

#6My take?
a) Nobody cares what happened 30 + years ago.
b) Both of them need to grow up and get over it already.
Both of these jabronis are still living better lives right now than 99% us.Comment -

#9Gastineau seems to believe that with the record he deserves to get into the HoF. All of his teammates said he was a one dimensional and selfish player. Old Bill, this was the last game of the season. 2001. Right before the play you can see Favre and Strahan talking. Word is: the play called was a run but Favre kept it. However, a receiver does go out for a route on the play so who knows on that front. Gastineau was on the sideline for this game so the NFL could potentially have a moment between the two, they did. And in that moment Gastineau seemed genuinely happy. However, once he saw the play and once the narrative became that Favre laid down, that's when it turned soured.Comment -

#17But someone explain this to me. Why on air did they say "no one is happier than Brett" when he broke the record? Is there some past history I am missing?Comment -

It wasn't a legit play. Brett gifted a record to his buddy. If Brett wanted it to look legit, he would have let Strahan drop him on his shoulder.Where's the fuckin power box, Carol?Comment -

*Howie Long said the same thing about Gastineau. Gastineau was viewed as a one-dimensional pass rusher.
*There is a funny part of the Gastineau legacy. He did the Sack Dance after recording a sack. A few funny lines from Joe Thiesmann:
1) "As a recipient of some of those sacks, I didn't appreciate the Sack Dance."
2) "Is Mark Gastineau a self-promoter? Does the sun rise?"Where's the fuckin power box, Carol?Comment -

Opti, here's a link. Favre is connected to a $77M scam on his home state's welfare fund.
