You could say it's because they have the talent to do it, but Bickerstaff had the exact same team... Jenkins meanwhile is using former GLeague guys like Pippen & Huff & LaRavia -these guys might well fail in other places.

What amazes me is how so many people say that coaching doesn’t matter in the NBA. That’s crazy talk. Almost every team in this league have superstars. It’s a star league. But you need a coach that can manage egos and build a culture. This is the same Cavs team Bickerstaff had but they look totally different.

if the Cavs come out flat and are trailing and drop to -3, -2 live ill prob take a stab because the Pelicans are gutless in my opinion
and yes, if the Cavs are healthy they will be a major test for Boston. but Bos will still get Porz back soon and Brown played bad imo but Garland has to know when to stop shooting

Garland was God awful but he’s played too many games this season. Atkinson probably should have shelved him but this was good experience for Garland. Shooters have to shoot. He’ll get his offense right. His defense is the biggest question and that game Boston abused him and Merrill. Both players will have to step up their defensive intensity. This game was good experience.

I wanted them to win just because it was the Celtics. But I think this was a good loss. I could see them easily dropping tonight’s game too. They’ve played more games than any other team which is very perplexing, so they have tired legs and coming off all this emotion. A big letdown is to be expected but Atkinson is a pretty good coach. I think he’ll have them prepared.

You didn't really want it to continue did you? Season is 82 games you don't want the team to be drained. They prob exhaled after the game and playing again v Pels who just got smacked... wouldn't surprise me if Pels cover and hang around most of the game.

We were watching different games. Merrill was the one I saw getting picked on all game -seemed like every play in that opening frame. Did well... Like a smaller Strus.
I guess Garland more an open court type. His p&r game hasn't appeared much better at all since he entered the league... a 6ft guard that can't read simple coverages and deliver passes on point and on time -and he's a starter! Imagine that! If they could trade him for Butler that would be good for both teams.

Oh yeah, they abused Merrill too. I’m surprised Atkinson gave him the start and played him that much. It was tough going with the Cavs missing so many players. If Okoro, Wade or LeVert had played, I think they could have won.

If Tatums linebacker hit on Mitchell was properly called a flagrant foul, this game most likely goes into overtime. How many times can Tatum and Brown just push guys on the floor and never get called for fouls. Crazy.

The Celtics shot lights out, scored 36 more points from 3 than the Cavs, Cavs were missing Okoro, Wade, Levert and Strus, their top 4 on ball defensive players, Darius Garland having his worst game of his career and the Cavs still only lost by 3 points on the road. I can’t wait for Cleveland to wax that ass on Dec 1st. Can’t wait. Just have to stay healthy.
