Thanks. She was a great cat. Her name, Mudcat, was all wrong for her (my ex's fault). She was very lady-like and beautiful and graceful.

She wasn't even supposed to be my cat but when we brought her home as a kitten, it was like she took one look at me and said, "That one's mine." She started following me everywhere and that lasted 16+ years.

The passage of time sucks. She was an amazing athlete in her prime - great leaper and climber - but she got older and developed health problems and things started piling on in recent times. I finally had to have her euthanized this past weekend. Horrible experience. I'm sure others here have been through it.

But she had a good life and was loved and appreciated for every second of it.

Had 3 female cats named-Cupcake-Oatmeal-and Fudge. They died a year apart at 16-17-18 years old. Got a stray tomcat I took in now.

Yeah. I knew when I went with that avatar/sig that I was being a bring-down. But I had talked about Muddy with people here over the years to the point where I felt like she was a small part of the forum - so I thought I would pass along the news. Maybe I wanted some sympathy too.

This makes me miss Max...

I'm probably more excited to see him then anyone else in my family when I had home for the holidays. He's getting up there, too... one of the unfortunate things we can't avoid

Max is sitting at 15... obviously rounding off the back 9. I seriously miss him more than anyone... I miss all my friends and family so much, but they all get to talk to me on the phone and know how I'm doing. Max I just haven't seen in 7 months now. I just hope he's still okay and remembers me when I get home...

I lived with a dog, "rocky" for 5 years in undergrad/grad school times.... and when I came back to visit 3 years after I left, he definately remembered me, he was running up the walls..... I'm sure Max will go beserk..... In fact I think you should video that moment for SBR
