Great way to present your picks, Dave. I appreciate the thought and effort that goes into it. Don't know about the picks, being a novice at NCAA, but enjoy how you do things. Good luck.

Yeah, just noticed this and came on here to make note of it. Capped the game for NEW MEXICO, and then for whatever reason got them crossed up in my notes.
Annoying, but I definitely still like Tulsa in this spot against a New Mexico team that got smashed by Texas A&M, not Idaho. I guess I overlapped them when I was taking my notes for the Idaho/Washington game.
THANK YOU for pointing it out, and thanks for all the comments guys!

Thanks for the vote of confidence Enog! Will have my football picks soon... at first glance, Oakland +9 will be my play of the week. Still a bit of homework left to do today though

Thanks bypp! It's funny, Wazzu is one of my favorite picks this week... funny considering they were arguably the worst team in football last year. Good luck!

Yeah, sure thing.
I mean my philosophy picks are all kind of created equal, so it'll be hard for me to choose ONE best game if I have say 2 or 3 that I love. But I'm game to drop in with my fave college and pro play of the weekend
Unlike last year's ugly turnover-laden game, both teams should be better in this year's matchup between Notre Dame and Michigan; but the result will be the same.
The Notre Dame Fighting Irish and the Michigan Wolverines find themselves in a similar situation this season; both are trying to regain the national respectability that has almost always gone hand in hand with their programs.
2008 was a complete disaster for Rich Rodriguez and the Michigan Wolverines, who racked up the most losses in single season history at Michigan with nine. No matter how you slice it, it was one of the worst years in Michigan Wolverines football history.
For Notre Dame, 2007 was their completely disastrous 3-9 season. With plenty of blue-chip prospects in place, Fighting Irish fans were hoping that 2008 would mark a quick turn around back into the national spotlight. Instead, the Irish only delivered a 6-6 regular season capped off by a fun but unfulfilling bowl win over Hawaii.
For two of college football’s most storied programs, a gradual rebuilding process isn’t acceptable. These teams are expected to be excellent year in and year out, no exceptions.
Both teams come off of convincing wins last week, with Notre Dame stomping out Nevada 35-0 and Michigan cruising over Western Michigan 31-7. But now the real test begins; one of these teams will get their redemption off on the right foot at 2-0, while the other will settle for 1-1 and hear all the fans and media start the tailspin of “this team isn’t there yet, they can’t go out and win an important game like this one”.
Last year’s matchup between these two teams was in Notre Dame, where the Irish came out on top 35-17. It was an ugly game in which the Wolverines actually out-gained their opponent 388-260 in total yards; but turnovers ended up deciding the game as Notre Dame won the turnover battle 6-2 thanks to four Michigan fumbles lost.
Both teams are a bit more polished than what they were in 2008, and I’m not expecting this game to be nearly as ugly. I am, however, expecting the same team to come out on top.
Putting a team of great young athletes together is only half the battle; they need to learn how to win. They need to learn first hand that if you don’t give it your all on every single down, whistle to whistle, the teams that are doing those things can beat you.
I think Notre Dame is one step further along in this process. 2007 was their disaster year, 2008 had lots of positive signs but plenty of negative ones too. 2009, on the surface anyway, looks like it might be the year that the Irish get their name firmly back into the polls.
For Michigan, I don’t think this season will be a total disaster; this is a really good young football team that should be bowl eligible this year. But this is the type of game they will lose and learn from.
In what should be a very good game, look for Notre Dame to show a little bit more poise (despite being on the road) and pick up the win.
The Pick: Notre Dame -3.0

So far I'll appreciate if you could include some comments on Air force + 4.5(MN coach sucks I'll never bet on that team again!), East Carolina +6(they're playing against West VA but EC seems to be an awesome team to bet in, I don't know what you say), Stanford +2.5 and Fresno st +8.5...
besides those I'm also looking at these games.. 386)Florida-36, 339)Notre Dame -4.5, Nebraska)-24, 361)KANSAS-11, 377) Oregon St -7, 366)Oklahoma st -15 and Penn St -28 (I think Palalus is a great QB but I think that Penn st will destroy them as they were unable to beat MN that is a team I consider really suck due to their head coach.. Do you see the TO call before a punt!! lol).. GL to you for this week..
Air Force +4.5: Never can tell with a team like Air Force! I'm leaning Minnesota though; they are a different team at home and this new stadium is supposed to be a thing of beauty, and I wouldn't be surprised if they broke it in with a big winning effort.
East Carolina +6: Agree with you, any time you can this team plus money, it is worth a long look. That said, the revenge factor should be really huge here... but ECU isn't the type to be pushed around. Should be a good one.
Stanford +2.5: I can not figure this game out AT ALL. Expect Stanford to do big things this year, but something rubs me the wrong way about this one. Wake might bounce back here.
Fres State +8.5: I like it. This team disappointed me a lot last year, but they are generally very gritty and they go full speed whistle to whistle, have to like getting this many points on a team like that.
Florida -36: Hard to say. Troy really gets up huge for big games, and this is definitely one of them. I'd lean taking the points on Troy, but then you look at the talent level of both teams, and it ends up being a no play for me
Note Dame -4.5: As you saw in this thread, love Notre Dame in this one!
Nebraska -24: Like it... I have some respect for Ark State, but they don't play well on the road, and Nebraska looks sharp.
KANSAS -11: Definitely looks good on paper... something rubbed me the wrong way about the line on this one. Want to see how Kansas fares on the road, even against an inferior opponent.
Oregon St -7: Too hard to tell. This team has waaaay too much of a habit of starting off slow, and UNLV loves playing spoiler in games like this. OSU is the better team no doubt, but gut tells me UNLV pulls the upset.
Oklahoma st -15: I was leaning this one too... they look good, damn good. My only concern is if they decide to go into shootout mode against Houston instead of shutdown mode, and they don't quite cover.
Penn St -28: If they hadn't JUST BURNED ME so hard last week, I'd be right there with you!
Good luck on whatever you ended up playing!

Thanks for all those comments.. I never expect less than that from a guy like you...
let me add something to your Fresno st comment: Wisconsin as a weak team this year and Fresno seems that they started this season very motivated so I also consider the money line as a good play.. but obviously not into a parlay
thanks for the comments on Nebraska, I totally agree with you..
The only reason I say the Oregon st U is a great pick for this week is because they were the only ones able to beat Florida last year and they did around this same week if I'm not wrong...
I'll agree with you regarding Florida because as I said they lost around this same time of the season, last year.. so florida, maybe for future weeks.. but I still have to say that Troy doesn't show a shit last week..
EC, I think I will pass on this game, I mean I like EC to win but they are playing against WV in WV and I now that WV is not the same team as years before but still have some of the best talents of the whole country.. so I feel there are some other easy games to bet as you mentioned the OVER on the SMU/UAB game.. I love that one.. or Texas Tech..
I also like Oklahoma st.. buddy they are as equal strong as Oklahoma man... for real.. I do believe so..
and Stanford.. I think I'll give this team a couple of more weeks to how do they develop their game...
So far thanks for your feedback I really appreciate that and BOL to you my friend..

Think you meant USC here. They beat SC, Ole Miss beat Florida.
Oregon State over the last three years has started the season off 2-3 and then ended it with only one loss down the stretch.
Since 2006-07 -
First 5 games: 6-9
Remaining games +bowl game: 22-3
Tread lightly! Good luck! On paper, 7 points should be an easy cover.

Thanks CC, best of luck to you today too! I'm just hoping that under doesn't get shredded by a late pick-6 or something... I was hoping it would be in the 50s after Tennessee's offensive explosion last week, but books aren't in the habit of giving away free money
