#2Oh hell no! What's next, ban tarrot readings, psychics hotlines, etc. There is so much evidence and examples of these being frauds but if someone still wants to believe and waste their money, then so be it. Why do we need the government to step in and protect the dumb? If someone wants to be dumb, then be dumb.Comment -

I like that take.
This isn't the 90's anymore when you read about people getting ripped off in an Ethiopian e-mail fraud.
If you get taken by some blowhard that claims 78 percent sustained success than the one who should be locked up is you, first degree stupidity.Comment -

#4Originally posted by agendamanmy question- should all touts who charge for their services be legally banned. my answer-yes.thoughts on this topic.
1) If a tout is feasting on someone Mentally-challenged, then that's criminal. If you think about it, a lot of people might qualify for that.
2) As for the Tout transaction, it's a weird one. You normally exchange $$ for Goods + Services. A sports-tout might be akin to a Stock-picker. If someone offers their opinion for a fee, the Buyer can purchase at their discretion. There's no obligation. As for the value of the product received, that's dubious. One could argue that anyone's opinion is as good as the next guy's opinion.
3) I do think the public view of Touts has changed. It was a relatively new industry in the 1990s. If you're un-informed, you might think these opinions have value. Times have changed. I think that MOST people are wise enough to know that MOST touts don't merit the fee.Where's the fuckin power box, Carol?Comment -

#5I could speak more about this topic. Also, some Touts rate very high on the Unintentional Comedy scale:
*I'd buy $100 to anyone who provided a full season of the Sports Advisers on VHS.Where's the fuckin power box, Carol?Comment -

Who is/was the GOAT sports tout?
1. Guy who actually won more than he lost?! Has to be one.
2. Guy who scammed his way to millions with a shitty record.
Not sure who is the GOAT.Comment -

#13After having seem dozens of guys come through here as a new sports bettor trying to learn a math based capping system... who then achieve some success and immediately start thinking about selling picks... I think wanting to go tout is a very natural thought for a lot of people.
What those people choose to do once they realize they need to lie to keep customers on-going is the test of character..Comment -

#14That reality tv series with “Steve Stevens” was hilarious. Telephone hard sales… “How do you handle your business? Vcard or Mcard?”
Then they fly the mark into Vegas to wager $30K a game. Martingale the guy first two games and he’s down $90K sweating around the barstools.

#16I absolutely despise any kind of sports betting tout. Most of these touts need other peoples money to just cover their juice and make a small living. Also some don’t even bet their own picks and take your money those are the real scumbag scamming losers. Fawk them I can’t even go on X much anymore so many of those assholes on there.Comment -

Who is/was the GOAT sports tout?
1) Who made the most $$? Probably Jim Feist.
...He made it LOOK credible. He was smart enough to turn on the Money-printer.
2) Who was the best marketer? Probably Wayne Root.
...He made it look believable. And he talked a good game.
3) Who was the most outrageous? Stu Feiner.
...See above. He arguably created a cottage industry out of thin air.Where's the fuckin power box, Carol?Comment -

#33Originally posted by JIBBBYIs that really Thermaflu? That dude sucked at gambling. He should pay people to follow his picks., but I would bet my life that if you calculated all his plays at that website, he’s a losing gambler. He does seem to shine a little bit in the WNBA. I have to admit that.
